I have downloaded the rider's packet and paid my fee to ride a trackday at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL.

The more, the merrier!

Couldn't wait for May 9th to be my first trackday of the season. So, I signed up for Gingerman on Saturday, April 28.

I'll have one, maybe two empty spots in the trailer, just in case anyone else would like to tag along. I will be heading up there Friday late afternoon.

I just came back from a quick test ride on my rebuilt OEM shock (which I just bolted back on the zx9), after picking up the shock about 90 minutes ago from TSE in Darien, WI.

They definitely sprung it for a fat guy!

I tested out the SV on Tuesday. It still works. I'm not as comfortable on it as was on my old KTM though. Luckily for me that guy who bought my KTM is going to be there too - so he can humiliate me by passing me on my old bike.

May 9th is also the day the Vintage moto group will be there, so we may have 4 sessions? Or advanced and Intermediate will be combined?

Well I'm ready for Wednesday to get here.

Motovid always runs 4 sessions. If there isn't a special group, they run two Intermediate groups.

See you guys there Tuesday night. I'll be camping behind the  tech building. (the real tech building, not the old one.) Stop by the campfire.

Thoughts of tomorrow's track day are making it difficult to focus on work today.
I loaded the 9 into the minivan last night, and already have it taped up.  Fuses are pulled.  I will be stopping in West Allis on the way home from work to pick up my leathers.  I had Alexa at Spyder Leatherworks sew on a 360 degree zipper to my jacket.

I am considering a breakfast stop around 5:45 in Darien or closer to the track.  Gate opens at 7, I think...right?

I was there on my cobbled together looking SV650. What you don't see there is my $1500 worth of suspension making everything as compliant and predictable as can be.  I ended having a good time riding a bike not a KTM  EEK!

My old KTM was there too so I had a benchmark.

Here's Breadman hiding behind his Ninja. It must be a big bike to be able to hide most of that guy!

The years of trackdays on the FJR has proven to be a useful tool in body position training.  You're really hanging off there man! Head a little lower and people will mistake you for the fastest guy at trackday.

John was there too, along with Sparky and Rocketman.

Shannon, my Mom, and sister also came to enjoy the spectacle.

All of the above pics were taken by Katie (I adjusted some things, rotated and cropped the photos to make the more pleasing to the eye). Good background blur and panning technique -- just like I requested! haha.

WOW Katie took some great pictures! I am not surprised tho, she seems to understand instructions especially when you are the one instructing.
