When I bought my 1600GT I bought the intergrated GPS for it, so I no longer need my Zumo 550. I bought it in '07 or '08 for my Sprint ST. It works great & I have everything OEM for it to attach it to the bike or put it in your car. The only thing it need is a new battery, it doesn't hold a charge anymore. If you are interested, let me know. I would like to get $300 for it. Thanks! Cheers

Does the unit work in the cradle if the battery is "bad"?

Yes. As soon as you take it off of the cradle it shuts off... No asking if you would like it to stay on via battery, but as soon as you put it back on the cradle it fires back up. I very rarely took it off of the bike so it was in the heat & the cold constantly & when I called Garmin they said that is why the battery won't hold a charge. I would've kept it & already had a new battery in it, but it wouldn't fit on my GT.
