My last few weeks with the KTM. The new owner is coming up soon. I have a few more things to do to make the bike ready for an interested and eager owner. I could not help but take this pic and ask Murphy to choose. Without hesitation, he looked at the 950.  EEK! They are such different bikes I wish I could keep them both. What a nice 'stable' that would be. Alas ... makes me sad, but such is life and all its limitations.  Thought I would share an interesting pairing of bikes.

I am jonesin' to see that Norge Smile

So far, I'm finding the XT to be a great 2nd bike.  It's small and light, easy to ride, and takes on the (narrow, rough, steep, washed-out) short-cut trail near my home quite nicely.  I hope explore some of the local back-roads on it this summer.  Plus, it's a great fit for working with the odd newbie...

However, I will have the Buell on the road, a bit later (once the roads are a bit cleaner).  Looking forward to a few road trips this year!

'scuse me, but I've never seen a Norge in person.

Is that bike as physically small as it looks in that pic. The dog gives the bike some perspective. It doesn't look much bigger than the katoom.

It is quite small when you see it in person. I was expecting it to be bigger as the photos seem to indicate a large bike. The KTM is physically quite a bit longer and taller than the Norge. Sitting on the KTM after sittin IN the Norge is quite the different experience.

I can honestly say it is a great bike. It would have to be to get me off that KTM.

Yep, he has that affect on people. Not the brightest pooch in the world, but he more than makes up for it by being a very happy boy and a  really nice guy !  And no, I am not changin his name to Mo !

I've never ridden a Norge, but I've sat on them--and I could ride one quite comfortably.  It feels much smaller than, say, an FJR...  (Note, I'm MUCH shorter than Bubba--indeed, I'm a bit surprised he got a Norge, I thought he might be a bit cramped on any bike that would suit me...I think he's already added lower pegs, though...).

Cool thanks. We've got a Guzzi dealer here in town. I'll have to swing by and see if I can arrange a test ride if he has one in stock (they've got a bunch of Griso's and a Stelvio or two).

Back to posting about spring weather...I'm writing this while in line waiting for the Balfour ferry, which is extremely busy due to the fact the Kootenay pass is closed all morning due to avalanche hazard.  Huge snowstorm through there last night.  It's what, 2nd of May...

Heading over Sherman Pass on Friday, at least that is the plan. Should be quite chilly as it is 1700 meters. Going to try and be there around noon. Brrrrr

Sparwood is like no problemo compared to when you come down from the lofty heights of Elkford. It is cold up there ... but warms quickly once you hit the bridge over the river. By Fernie, it is positively balmy by comparison. It was damp my last trip and about -2 ... wow was that cold. I prefer the fall -8 or so and dry.

I find riding fast in cold weather is better than riding slow. You get through it quicker. Time in cold weather is the killer. Not wind chill.

Oh, you meant your cage ! ...  Razz

Just got back from a great ride dressed only in jeans, Hawaiian shirt and armor shell. Spring is definitely happening! Put down a deposit on an NTX.

Heard there was shitty weather down south.

We laughed about it as we road about 300 km of backroads on Sunday.

Biggest problem is it's so dry, I ate a lot of dust.
