Go to the GS Challenge,   usually around Rocky Mountain House.   Your BMW dealer should know about it.

Today I have to go to Kimberley for a  2 day conference and it's killing me that i can't take the Duc.  I got suckered into driving a couple of other folks without transport.  Oh well, maybe it'll rain like crazy Friday afternoon and I'll feel a whole lot better 'bout taking the cage!javascript:void(0);

Wednesday morning at work, it was snowing ever so slightly. Windier than a bastard, sunny as can be, but still a few flakes of snow.  And of course, cold. Headscratch

Yeahhh...A friend in Victoria is posting pictures on Facebook about peach and cherry blossoms on his trees.  Sad

At least all the snow has melted in the highlands here. There might even be a faint hit of green on the willows. Think I'll be able to test out the GoPro this weekend if the rains stops!

Just about done with blossoms here. Everything has leafed in fully and we planted some tomatoes today (albeit in pots on the deck).  I grew up in Victoria and despite the reputation, the valleys of the Interior of BC win in terms of early spring and actual warm weather. Swallows, even the vultures are back already.

Yet another sign of spring, I made my first transit of the Flowery Trail, west to east from Chewelah.  I'm happy to report that the "Trail" wintered well.  Also had some fun on the roads between the 25 and US 95, including Pleasant Valley Road which I had not rode for a while.  Perfect temps, about 18-22C, sunshine, and light traffic.  Bring on summer!

Feels like fall here today. Was only about 8 degrees when I got up this morning, cloudy. Rose to 11 by 9am when I went to work. Still quite cool outside.

I've been looking to relo out to the Kootenays. Either Kamloops or Kelowna. After watching the forecast daily for the last couple of weeks. I'm starting to seriously rethink that.

Also,  Kelowna is more "Okanagan"  ie:( orchards wine, and old people.)   and Kamloops is Thompson country. (Pretty dry, ranch and forestry land).

IMHO,  The Kootenays have nicer weather.

Yeah, the local weather is weird this spring...much wetter thatn we're used to (we also have a very high snowpack...rivers are getting really high right now).

I travel all over southern BC for my work.  For weather, the Okanagan is nice--sunny and hot in the summer, and very little snow in winter.  I like Penticton and Vernon much better than Kelowna, which is too much of a big strip mall for me...  Kamloops is also nice, but it can get cold in the winter (still dry, though).  The East Kootenay is nice in summer--I like the broad, open valleys and the views of the Rockies--but again, the weather can get cold there.  Here in the West Kootenay, we are wetter than the Okanagan (but seldom this wet!).  A bit  cooler in summer, and although we get lots of snow, it falls straight down (no wind Smile ).  Personally, I'm happy to be where I am.

I used to live--and ride every day--in North Vancouver, so I've had some experience with rain.  If I'd wanted to continue getting rained on, I'd have stayed in North Van... Razz
