Everything's flowering down by the water. And there's certainly water everywhere this wet day

Pop on down to the corner of Moss and May streets. Face south down Moss and shoot me a pic. That building on your left was my former office and I do miss those blossoms about this time of year.

Frankly, it's just rain, rain, rain right now. I'll keep it in mind tho.

You do know old pal, by saying that, that you incur the wrath of many on this board who dream of a simple ride in the rain this time of the year? I know, I know. It is cold rain, and that is difficult to convey to the rest of the country and Victoria is not so pretty in rain. But ... but ... today, I would like to go for a ride in the rain. I would leave work early, 2pm .. ride out West Saanich and head towards Willis Point, turn down Ross-Durrance RD and then turn onto Munns Rd .. hit Intururban, flow softly into West Saanich and head back to your place. Oh ... with a stop at the Prairie Inn .. of course. You see, I live vicariously through you and it is time you delivered. Ever done a rain soaked ride to Cowichan Lake via Riverbottom RD ? OH!

Took this on Rogers Pass yesterday. It was shut down overnight due to a 6 semi trailer accident and then avalanche control.
(If you will note, the drifts were as high as the semi trailer).
I think it will be a while before I venture back out on it with the FJR.

We have had the odd really nice day. I saw my first flock of Canada geese on Monday, bur this morning ... Snow fall warning over the next few days. Getting over any of the passes between here and Alberta, on a motorcycle, is a ways off as winter reminds us it is still around. Two weeks tomorrow Mexico! House sitter in place - check fistful of Pesos - check flabby pale and easily burned Canuck skin- er, unfortunately!

had a nice one yesterday....comox to just north of campbell river & back. some stretches of pretty salty (but dry) road near menzies bay. stopped where snow remnants started appearing roadside. Sues little take-out place (or you can sit inside @ your leisure). great food if you're ever up this way.

Many years we don't get to ride into BC for the first time of the year until the July 1 long weekend. Sometimes mid-June is OK, one year we tried to head over in May
that did NOT go well....
We got this yesterday afternoon. Our snow hadn't been all gone before this, but much diminished. *sigh*

That looks like tons of fun ... tons of work .... but good fun at the end. I need to get out of our valley more in the winter and catch some of that sun up high.

Set of ski's and skins can be had relatively cheap on Kijiji, always looking for ski partners, it keeps you sane (as sane as we can be) between bike seasons and trips to Mexico

Yep, that was quite the dump of wet snow yesterday. I had to drive to Nelson early in the morning and it was awful.
Hey Geoff ... you got any pics of your pulled port from the Borscht Burn? I was hoping to add them to the 2012 page. You can post em and I will shamelessly steal them.

Sure, Bubba. For those unfamiliar with the process, "pulled pork" is pork butt that's been cooked low and slow, for up to 12 hours; I do mine on a wood-burning "pellet grill." I transported it--still hot--in a "faux cambro" (also known as a cooler...) to Bubba's place, where I pulled it. Not the most glamourous looking of foods, but...I got no complaints on the taste...

No signs of spring in North Eastern Ontario yet. But it's been a mild one compared to what we usually get. -19C last night and snowing out now.
I think I remember vaguely riding motorcycles for fun. Seems like a lifetime ago.
I was seriously entertaining thoughts of moving to either Kamloops or Kelowna this summer. After seeing your pics, not so much
