That's only a couple of dollars more than Bikebandit.com, and you got instant gratification.......

How much did they charge for the mounting?  Did you remove the wheels for them?

They charge $20 per tire for mounting if bought from them, $30 if not. Yeah, I had to take the wheels off and bring them to the shop. Wasn't too big a deal, just had to borrow a front stand from a friend.

That's cool, Mr. Black has a guy by him that mounts and balances for $25 bought anywhere.  That's a pretty good deal through Cycle Gear if they'll price match an online vendor.  That's probably the way I'll go.  There is a Cycle Gear about 45 minutes from me in CT.

Great guys and always have good prices! If you don't see something listed on their site, call. They sell a lot more than they have listed on their site.

Thanks.  They seem to be inline with most other sites but I added them to my "tires" bookmarks.

Is it a bad sign when you have a separate bookmark folder for tires?

I've started one as well, when prices fluctuate so often and by so much.  Due diligence is important to this frugle consumer cheap ass mofo.

I bought 3 tires this week from American Motorcycle Tire. A set of BT-023's and a Bridgestone S11 for my kid's GPz 550. AMT was the cheapest place I found for those tires with no monkey business on shipping charges. Ground shipping is included in the listed price.

Thanks, I haven't gone over to wristtwisters.com to check out their tires threads yet.  Bunch of 919 guys in there.

What kind of mileage are you getting out of the Z8's?  What was the price you found?

I bought my last set of tires for the Strom from these guys: www.rockymountainatvmc.com

They have good pricing and no shipping silliness.

First pair of z8's so not sure yet,  Have had three pairs of the 6's and was getting 8-9k out of them, pretty good.

I could have had them ship from an internet site and have them mounted for $400.  Ended up getting a dealer to be somewhat competitive and had him put them on for $460.  Figured the extra $ was worth it for ease of and if any problems come up I can go back to him.

Zoinks!  Glad I invested in a tire changer.  It's paid for itself many times over.

I'm sure it did, I'm looking at between $260 and $300 for tires, $40 - $50 for mounting.

You need to find a local guy like frenchie to take care of the tire change for $20.  Or invest and become that guy, you'll have the tire changer payed off quick.  Once I get a bigger garage, I will have my own set up.

And yes Mr. Black, in exchange for a cigar and or a good cup of coffee, I will let you use it.

^^This. Next door neighbor has a tire changer and tire warmers. Heat up old tire and new tire. Old tire off, new tire on (like a big stick of buttah...), inflate, and balance. Now most of the work is listening to M.Brane and Mikiel debate how many weights to add. I just bring snacks and a glass of wine for myself. Mikiel has a kegerator so even the beer is provided.

Most of the work now is telling stories.  Lol
