I was wondering what I was going to do with that spare week of vacation.  Reservation made in the big room with kitchen.    Might have a spare bed available to help defray costs.

Went back and checked the reservation.  The room is a single bed.

Well looking at a map would be a good place to look for some roads.   Lol

Your logic is sound.   Razz

By then, we hope to be toting a couple WRs or similar in the truck while dragging the trailer and the dogs and the cat.   Rolleyes

Pet Sitter?   Shrug

It's a bit involved but the short version is Kim's mom was the only one that ever stayed with the boys when we went away.  Now that she's gone, we're having a very hard time coming up with someone to stay with them.  They're a *bit* spoiled and Merlin literally makes himself sick with worry when he's away from us.  Like $800 dollars worth of sick with worry last time.  So, believe it or not, taking them with really is the simpler solution to an otherwise very involved problem.  Either we all go or none of us go.

And as you saw, they're very ill behaved and obnoxious dogs.   Wink

Is there any camping nearby?  And if yes will there be a bunch of STNers there of just a few cheap bass-turds?

Nearest spot I could find was the Stone Mountain state park 10 miles away.

I think when ESTN 07 was at sparta, Basco camped there. I think he was the only one out of the group and spent the night in somebodys room at the hotel. If you're not drinking and the weather is good, its a great place to stay. If not, stay at the hotel.

Not sure if it is the same one but there one right where US21 crosses the New River at the VA line.  I think there are a bunch of places to camp that don't show on the map or internet.

Wow. I'm still contemplating Doug. I may do an annual fall trip to WV with friends.  If I don't, I'll be there.  Thumbsup

I'll bring the bourbon this time.  Would you have guessed that the following Monday after the "Country Roads" meet I purchased a fifth of Woodford Reserve?!?!  Yep, liked it that much.  Thumbsup Thanks again!
