Eastern Sport-Touring.Net (meet)

When something isn't broke, don't fix it.  Am I right?  Let's face the facts, it's difficult to find an affordable hotel located in a somewhat remote area where we can easily have a group gathering (especially dinner).  The Allegheny Inn is located near some of the best roads on the East.  It offers very clean affordable rooms with a great place to hang out in the evenings.  And, gosh darnit, they like us there.

There's a reason more than a dozen motorcycle groups chose the Allegheny Inn to have meets.  Sure, it's only been two years since we were last there.  And, to be honest, if the Spring Meet wasn't being held in WV this year, I would have picked Canaan Valley for this year's ESTN.  Since there's no need to have two meets in WV this year, let's all meet at the Allegheny Inn in September!

Who?  STN members and friends who want to ride and meet other members
What?  ESTN 2012
When?  September 7-9
Where?  Allegheny Inn.  Sparta, NC
Why?  To ride and hang out, of course.

To reserve your room at the STN discounted rate at $62.95 + tax, conduct the following steps:

1)  Go to the Alleghany Inn Online Reservation System

2)  Select "Reservation Wizard"

3)  Select the dates you desire

4)  Enter "sport" in the group code.

5)  Follow the remaining steps

There will be a group dinner Saturday night and it will be BBQ catered by The Galax Smokehouse.

We'll need to get the following started (any volunteers?):

Get planning... go to your place of work and request the needed time off.  See you in September!

Hum.. that's a week before the FJR Eastern Owners Meet in Hendersonville NC.

I'm think I may just burn off whatever vacation time I have left and make it a week long orgy of awesome riding.

I have put this event on the Cablebandit family calendar, provided the dog-sitter with the dates, and requested the time off. It's still six months away and a lot can happen in that time, but we're a solid "tentative" for this!  Bigsmile

OK.  I spoke with John (he's great, by the way).  The weekend of the 14-16 is the Mountain Heritage Festival and the hotel also has large wedding coming in.  He's booked up that weekend.  The young lady I spoke with yesterday didn't know what she was talking about.

The room reservation system will be set up on-line later today.  Once I'm able to "test" the on-line reservation this evening, I'll post up the link to make a reservation using our group name and discount.

I have the conference room reserved for a group dinner and John and I discussed the setting up of some large tents in the parking lot for the entire weekend (if the number of folks going warrant it).  If so, we'll eat dinner under the tents.

Hi Gary, thought you dropped off the planet.  Ready to put your order in for Asheville micro-brewed beer  Lol
ESTN07, still the best MC event I ever have gone to.  If you remember, ESTN07 was a perfect storm as far as dates went.  The cruisers were in DC and NASCAR pulled loads of folks over to Charlotte.  Having the dates moved to 7-9 just might a similar effect by it being so close to Labor Day.  Doug, IMO you are doing a great job.  If you can't have fun riding out of Sparta, you have to be defective.  Bigsmile
