Sprint needs new shoes (running on a slow leak to eek out the last miles on the bike) and the track bike needs rubber too.


Thinking PR3's for the Sprint, no idea for the track, likely do those at a track day.

Any thoughts? I used a place that I can't remember right now that was pretty inexpensive and reliable, but can't find any info from the past.

All help appreciated.

Go into this thread.  Pull out all the various on line vendors listed and pick the cheapest.  Prices change daily so you really need to just blast through a dozen websites on the day you plan to buy.

Found this thread after posting.

All were within a few bucks for PR3's.  Ordered on 'clearance' from Bike Bandit, although they charged me $8.95 for shipping, almost making them more expensive...

You may want to check again.  Since they were sold and changed the website all the prices went through the roof.  I used to buy tons of tires from there and everything was top notch.  Now, they aren't even in the same league price wise.

Is it always 10%?  I'm thinking about joining AMA just for this discount since it would most likely pay for itself over a summer's worth of rubber.

I went to SWmototires for years, yeah they've gone downhill since ownership change.

Last couple tires I got from Jake Wilson, maybe not ultimate best price, but free shipping and no tax makes it nice. They're not quite as fast on shipping as I used to get from SWmoto (used to be shockingly fast, like not much more than 24 hours), but fast enough.

Haven't ordered from these guys, but a few locals have and reported good experience... (shipping takes a bit longer...)

Used bike bandit.  Best price, but the tacked on $8.95 for shipping, which seemed odd, but still kept them in the lowest range of the 5 or so places I checked.

Thanks for your assistance! CAn't wait for them to arrive and get them spooned on.  I've been jonesing for the riding season to the point it has affected me personally, professionally, and overall, pushed me father along the insanity spectrum than I would have liked. Smile

I've used sportbiketrackgear several times. Order online on the weekend or by phone Monday morning and they're delivered Thursday FedEx to Central Texas. Price is always within a few dollars, if not the lowest and no shipping charges.

No more on-line for me. My local shop, Racer Cafe in St Charles, is the new STT Midwest Tire guy. Michelins at track prices.  They will mount and ballance, off the bike of course, while you wait.

After YEARS of buying on-line, I have decided to support the local guys.  There's not that much difference in price.

I just checked them for a tire for my dirtbike and they were as cheap as anyone. Plus they had free shipping, which the others I checked didn't.
