Well duh.    Mine go to my old K9 unit where decoys can wear them while training in situations where protection on the head might be needed from the dogs.

He said he likes creative destructive testing and we were bored at the range the one day.

Remove the padding, close the face shield, drill a couple of holes in the top, turn it over, fill it with dirt and turn it into a planter. Done the same things with old ski boots.

Makes for some eclectic yard art.

I took an old modular, gutted most of it, and we use it for prisoners that want to bash their heads around in the back seat.   I wanted to labekl one "SPAZ" but I sorta got overruled on that.

So far I've just set them in the closet, but once we get a place I am told they will decorate the game/TV room.

when I approached the firefighters a few years ago, they looked confused and a bit skeptical -- when I explained the old lids coud be used for training, their eyes lit up.

I see a couple of them around town from time and time, and they always ask if I have any more . . . .

That's awesome, about the firefighting training!  We have like 10 of them sitting in the garage (helmets, I mean, not firefighters ).  Maybe I can use the donation angle to convince my wonderful pack rat husband to get rid of them...
