Fellow Delawarians, my wife belongs to a women's riding group (Women on Wheels) who are very involved with various charities. One of their big ones is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Each year they raise money for this cause.

To support their fund raising efforts, for this year they have obtained a 3 digit MC tag (MC822) that they are raffling off.

If anyone is interested in purchasing tickets, PM me and we'll figure out how to get the tickets to you. Tickets are $5 each. The drawing will be in mid September and you do not have to be present to win. The winner is responsible for any DMV fees for transferring the tag.

Thanks!

For us out-of-state, what is the significance of a 3-digit plate? Why is it desirable?

Delaware's standard license plates don't have any alpha characters, just numbers. That makes it easy to turn it in to some kind of status symbol/competition. Think of it as a very expensive vanity tag.

Heck, I could probably sell the 4 digit tag on my SV for more then enough to pay for a slightly used Yamaha C3.

I can't imagine buying a tag myself but I will happily buy a couple ticket to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

All i have to do is send my request into the state and if it's available it's mine. And depending what the combo is it will cost nothing extra.

I'll take many numbers and letters, and letters that could be confused as numbers.

Harder for the po-po to read/remember.   Bigsmile
