Gents, i'm planning to arrive in Newark to pick up an Aprilia Friday afternoon.  I would like to meet up with some ST-Ners for a ride (west if possible!) on my way back to Milwaukee, WI.  If you wouldn't mind showing me some cool sights (NYC, PA historical monuments, maybe the deserted town with the burning coal veins), I would love it! I'll need to sleep at some point, so if you don't mind me couch crashing, that would be a bonus.  I am throwing this together at the last minute, so if you're interested in riding and showing me some of your favorite places, post your location, and maybe send me contact info so I can start mapping a route.

Keep it brown side down!

Not sure how far south you would like to go in Pa.  But there is Gettysburg and Pa also has the original Grand Canyon, and here are some off of the beatin' path places to look at  http://www.ratrun.com/pennsylvania.htm
for New Jersey  http://www.ratrun.com/new_jersey.htm
New York http://www.ratrun.com/new_york.htm
Ohio  http://www.ratrun.com/ohio.htm
Indiana  http://www.ratrun.com/indiana.htm
Illinois  http://www.ratrun.com/illinois.htm

If you look at a map Rte 6 looks like a great road but the couple of times I have been on it there was alot of traffic that was moving slow.  I think most of the really good roads in Pa run North/South.

Out of Newark are you going to take Rte 78 or 80?  Googling Newark to Milwalkee is 15 hours by bike that is easily doubled, how much time do you have?

Hope this helps

Hey skid,

congrats on the new ride. Thumbsup Sorry I didn't post up, but at such short notice, I couldn't change plans. I think others might have had the same dilemma. If you're ever back East and can give some more advance notice, I'd be happy to ride with you. Again, congrats and keep the shiny side up.  Smile
