Sucks for that guy, except that his injuries were minor and he was properly insured.

Just last weekend I was nearly assaulted by two turkey vultures.   Wow

Yikes -- there  but for fortune . . . . . .those birds are heavy and could ruin anyone's ride . . . . .

Glad the rider's OK . . . .

I almost got taken out by a great horned owl while on a nighttime ride in the Ural.  Threw almost my entire body into the sidecar and got to see a pair of talons go by so close they filled my entire faceshield.

Glad the rider wasn't heart.  Maybe he's pioneered a new Triumph model:  the Speed Trident.

A guy who lived just a few houses down from me when I was growing up got taken right off of his bike by a 200lb deer as it lept across the road. It didn't even upset the bike, it just rode on down the road without him until it eventually crashed itself.

Sometimes i think those darn critters are gunning for us.  Lol

I missed a turkey buzzard last Sunday, but just a few feet.   They're slow, but it's hard to know how to swerve with zero warning... I tucked behind the windscreen... like that would help much.

I've never seen a motorcycle portrayed as something so tranquil and in tune with nature. Thank you for the photo.

Glad this guy is not badly injured. Would submerging in a river count as a "total" for insurance purposes?

That sucks.  Glad the guys wasn't hurt.  I had my first experience with turkey vultures last summer on my bike trip to NorCal...wouldn't want to impact one!

It really harmonizes the plight of the Triple with the lifesong of Nature. I think it captures the essence of this nearly immortal struggle.

Mother Nature clearly wants a Speed Triple of Her own.

Most likely totalled.  But I'm sure he could buy it back with a "salvage" title.

Lol

but, would the laws of maritime salvage apply there? If I went by and saw the bike and salvaged it from the creek, then it would be mine?

Given it happened in Cali, he'll be luck if he's not cited for illegal discharge of hazardous environmental materials into a river or stream.   Lol
