Saw my bike up for sale today...

He didn't do much to it besides the FatDuc mod and 3k miles of riding, but it still feels like mine.  It's a weird feeling.  Anybody else see one of their previous bikes back up for sale?

I saw my ZX-6R up for sale about a year after I sold it. Guy had lowered the suspension and removed the stock decals. Hardly rode it. I kinda miss having a sport bike, but would get a bike with more torque on the next go-round, so I didn't feel the need to buy it back.

My old Sprint RS is up for sale right now by the co-worker I sold it to. It looks a lot rougher than when I sold it in 2006 because he lived in the city and bike was kept outside. He didn't do any mods since then or ride it much, but it looks more weather-beaten for sure.

Got a call about a year after I sold my first bike to a sometime riding partner for his girlfriend.  He had never filed the transfer of title paperwork with the state like he had promised (never paid any sales tax), so it was still in my name.  I signed the title transfer for the guy he sold it to.  Kind of sucks since I don't think the next owner realized he would be on the hook for the late registration penalty in addition to sales tax.  The owner after me did clean the bike up a bit before he sold it, at least.

I did see a photo of me on my old ZX6R on a "sale ad" on a malicious website.

Several years ago I ran an ad for a bike that I had owned for a few years and the guy that I bought it from answered the ad and bought it back.

I saw my Guzzi 850 LeMans and Duc 800ss for sale a short period of time after I sold them (under a year)

The dood selling 'my' Duc used the same photos from my original ad - including my gf in riding gear on it!

The dood selling 'my' LeMans made some pretty wild claims as to the condition it was in, and I saw from the photos (mine again!) that that was not the case..

2 bikes I sold were totaled shortly afterwards  
1 bike was stolen upon arrival at its new home  
2 bikes were sold to unknown parties, but I'd never recognize them anyway
1 was lovingly and sadly sold and while I would love to ride it again, but not own it

No, but the guy who bought my Slash Six, the bike outlasted him.  

Really nice Brit who was traveling the US and wanted to ride (he had his UK motorcycle license with him) and he's shoot me the occasional e-mail from the road.  A few years go by and I get an e-mail that begins "To the friends of X, I am sorry to say that he died peacefully while on his boat..."  At least he got his trip in as he was probably a good ten years younger than me.

All in all, I'd have rather seen my '75 R90/6 back up for sale instead of hearing about his demise.

I saw my RZ come up for sale a few years afterward. Unfortunately that wasn't long enough for me to have developed 'whywhywhy did I ever sell that bike?!?' feelings.

Yes...When you sold the Triumph Speed Triple I sold ya Falconati!!
I'm still hurt and the therapy is costing me a fortune....

Usually when I sell something, I am done with it. When I see it again it sparks some memories, but seldom do I want it back.
