Glove friendly MP3 player
«
on:
March 28, 2012, 09:11:24 AM »
So my cat knocked my old Sansa Fuse off the counter and it broke.
So I am looking for another cheap, glove friendly MP3 player. I liked the old Fuze, because I listen to FM, and could switch presets fairly easily with my gloves on... I may order up another Fuze.
Any suggestions??

I have one of those. Can add extra micro-SD card. Battery charge lasts 8 to 10 hours or more. Will play MP3 and WMA format. Can also play while charging from USB cable on the bike. Good little device, but not particularly glove friendly. But for the price, it's great.

Buttons not too small?? Even the Fuze buttons were iffy. Everything is touchscreen now, and that sucks. We need big buttons.

My wife and I have 80 and 120 gig Zunes. No longer made but the 16 and 32 gig ones are still available. They have tactile interfaces (also can be used in "touch mode" with a setting change)
I can operate mine with race gloves through the map window of my tankbag. I'm kind of SOL with my heavier winter gloves though ( i guess that why random mode was created)

No matter what you choose, step one must be; GET RID OF CAT(aka self propelled dog food)!

I picked up one of these a while back. It is waterproof and has a wrist strap (I attached it to the outside of my tank back with velcro). It works great, and would be a pretty cheap solution if you already have a iphone or ipod.

It does work for a while. Eventually it will get flakey, even with new batteries.

Added expense, but I have a Scala rider set in my helmet and found that the Ipods can be operated by voice command via BT. Makes it nice as all you do is tap the button on the Scala unit and then tell the player what to do. I would think Iphones would do the same.

You can always check EBay for a used one.
