Said to have until the middle of April to make an offer, the Volkswagen Group’s current proposal is lower than the €850 million originally rumored earlier this month. Despite it being less than Investindustrial’s initial valuation of €1 billion, the deal is said to be close to finalization, with Italian politicians and union members weighing in on the prospect of German involvement with the Italian brand.
Well, Ducati owners will have a good excuse now for riding around with only one headlight on.

Seems like a good fit to me - both have really expensive maintenance!
Seriously though, I'd love to see some of Audi's LED lights in Duc bikes.

Purchase price is a bit misleading - have to take into account how much debt Audi is picking up as well. If it's $250M, then the $1 billion number is about right.

The Panigale (1199) already has full LED lights.
The top spec version of the Diavel may have them too.

Yeah, I guess I was talking more about how Audi reinvented the use of LED lights on their cars (by creating that nice soft glow from the headlines with a strong design). Obviously the Panigale has design in spades, but I think they can share some DNA there.

Maybe we'll get a Two Wheel Drive Ducati with massive understeer and lots of buttons?
