We have enough people masturbating while strangling themselves that we gave that practice a name.

I don't think we're really built for long-term survival.

That type of ramp with rungs spaced 6-8 inches apart are totally useless. I have a ramp of similar length that is actually 2 ramps hinged together longitudinally. But the rungs are spaced far enough apart that your foot would go thru the space between if you misstep. I solved that problem by cutting a couple pieces of 1/4" plywood and bolting them onto the surface. I can easily walk beside the bike while feathering the clutch up the ramp.

Yeah, I'm always on the lookout for that. Why make it harder than it has to be?

OR, you could just ask for assistance. I'm betting that guy in the video just bought his first bike. And based on the stickers he has on the rear windshield, he's stuck in the Superman mode. Let's hope he lives.

One would think that if he were smart enough to upload to the Tube he might have done a search for vids on how to load a bike. But no...

YouTube has proven time and again that you don't have to be very smart to upload videos.

Yeah, the stickers on his window/fairing have him subscribed to the extreme (EXTREME!) lifestyle.  I bet he wears Tapout shirts too.  Lol

I've owned pickup trucks.  My Toyota Corolla with a 4 1/2 x 8 trailer has been more useful to me than any pickup I've had.

With the trailer much closer to the ground it's very easy to load and unload a bike (or anything else) by yourself.

best bike loading I've ever seen was after one of our thursday night rides. Darrin had just purchased a new Husky and Thore took it for a short test ride when we got back to the trucks. Apparently Darrin had turned off the gas, Thore rode it around the parking lot and parked it. We all had a couple beers and Darrin decided to load his bike so he fired it up, made a u-turn in the lot and rode it up the ramp. About the time the front wheel was on the tailgate the engine died. he balanced there long enough to say "help" and then with his feet several feet from the ground he slowly tipped over..... I haven't laughed that hard since!!

Lol  That movie gets no respect.

The years passed, mankind became stupider at a frightening rate. Some had high hopes the genetic engineering would correct this trend in evolution, but sadly the greatest minds and resources where focused on conquering hair loss and prolonging erections.

Good Lord....

Two people.

One holds the bike from the front while the other pushes/keeps bike upright from the rear.  Hardest part is when the front guy has to transition to getting into the bed of the truck.

No running start needed.

Yes, in fact it is a repeat post.  Good call.

In fact, I found my duplicate post and cut/pasted it.

It's a thought that has been rattling in my poor little head for the past few weeks, and I just found two different scenarios where it applied.

I don't see how that's possible. With one of you shooting video  and another talking on the cell phone it seems unlikely.

I like imagining the alternative: he hits the ramp correctly, pulls himself partway in to the air with the momemtum of the bike, but hits the tailgate himself, slowing the bike down and tilting its center of gravity towards him.  He lets go, falls on the ground, and the bike falls on him.

This was actually probably the best outcome he could have gotten from that load attempt.
