Pre delivered and pushed my first 2012 NTX out the door yesterday.

Happy owner!

I like to get my customers involved with their bikes early!! Lol Note Boris the polar bear. Well, you have to smugge them somehow and a Stelvio is so much more stylish than a poxy GS Bimmer!

Boris approves!!!!

Even Ian who has ridden Harleys and old pommy shit all his life was impressed!

I love this bike.  I wonder how it feels with that much gas in it though!

You know, the NTX can be had in Tenni Green in Europe.  Add a brown seat and Don Rodrigo's your boss.

I love this bike.  I wonder how it feels with that much gas in it though!

My R1150GS Adventure held close to 8 gallons, and the weight wasn't noticeable. It's already a heavy bike, and you don't have to ride it around with a full tank.

The TE's big Safari tank (6.6) feels best offroad with 4 gallons in it or less - and carries it down low.
So unless I'm going places where I know I'll need the range I don't top off the tank.

Better to have the ability to carry 8.5 gallons and not need it, than to need it and only have 4.7 gallon capacity.

I wondered too but it turns out it really isn't noticeable once under way.  This iteration of the Stelvio is much better than the first.  Guzzi has done a terrific job getting it sorted.  My only comment would be to thoroughly check out every electrical connection you can see (and those you cannot).  I've had four separate trips on four different Stelvios (rented) and each one has had some sort of electrical glitch--all trivial (eventually), but all easily avoided with a bit more preperation.

Despite my distrust of 'Dual Purpose', 'Adventure' bikes I have to say I've got a serious issue with te 2012 'Non-NTX' Stelvio with the alloy wheels. John in Sydney has one on his floor and, for what I'd use it for, (Tarmac ouring with a bit of graded dirt thrown in...) it makes perfect sense.

Oh dear, I think I'll have to go and see the accountant on Tuesday..... Rolleyes I'm sure I'll be able to scam it as a business asset.

Did you happen to note if the heated grips design had changed - can you modulate temp while on the go?

I always thought I'd like a GS, but these Stelvio's are looking better and better to me all the time. I think they're very good looking bikes,
and I can only imagine what that Guzzi twin sounds like....... Thumbsup

I really havn't heard anything bad about the Stelvio.

The Stelvio is really a wonderful bike.

It might be the best all around motorcycle I've ever owned. I can't think of anything that it doesn't do well.

I do like the fact that the shaft is painted too.  I mean, who doesn't appreciate having their rear suspended on a big black CARC?

I had the dealer pull a set of Heidenau K60's off the shelf for it. I'll take the oem Scorpion Trails home and put them on when the Scouts wear out.

I'm interested in how the bags hold up.  They seemed very flimsy at the IMS.  Shame to put those on such a sweet bike.

They're SW Motech Trax boxes with a MG logo on them, been on the market for years and well regarded as good upper mid-range panniers.
