Finally the weather is nice enough to wheel the LeMans out side. During the winter I set the valve clearance, .004 to 0045 intake and .006 ex seems a bit noisier now, seeing as there is not another V11 within hundreds of miles, and not being a MG expert by any means, does this sound OK? I have been told, "looser is better" in the case of the V11 engine anyways
Have a listen

4 and 6 inlet and exhaust is fine. The US had 2 and 4 thou specified but this was only to reduce noise and could result in the tappet 'Riding' the cam as well asidling problems as a result of same.
Do remember that you set up each cylinder individually. If you are on TDC compression on onr cylinder you are NOT on TDC compression on the other. Treat the engine as two singles and find TDC on each one individually.

You bet, I do one at the time and set TDC for each as per the workshop manual
Thanks though for the reassurance

Hey Dave. I don't know if the sound is just bad in the vidio or not but that sounds a bit noisy to me. I would take the covers of and do the adjustment again. You will find the adjustment chnages when you tighten the lock nuts down. It takes a bit of practice to get it right. You did do it while the engine was cold.
Beautiful bike. I saw it first hand. A 10

Whatever happened here, Dave? Did u get it calmed down? I sure hope the Stelvio I hope to buy doesn't have that loud a tappet noise. But, if that's the case, I guess I'd have to learn to live with it.
