BIG Sport Tourer?

« Reply #22 on: June 10, 2012, 09:25:28 PM »

Gee, I think it may already be a little lighter than my Traxxionized GL1800 with wife and dog on board?   Inlove

I have found it able to hang with all the other sport tourers I've encourtered in the 175K it's been so far.

Yup, 2200 less posts than you!

Well,  then I'd say you have some reading to do,  till then,  don't feel bad, we all agree that the FJR is a fine sporty TOURING bike.  One day when I'm old  (but not old enough for a Yellow Gold Wing), I may get one ......   naaaaaa,   I'd rather have a Miata.     Twofinger

BTW,  to save you all sorts of aggravation,  let's just cut you some slake.   FJR's are the current focus of good natured jokes on this forum.  Their owners seem to be able to handle it, so we'll continue until someone blows a gasket or something.   Prior to the fat overweight FJR's, VFR's were the target, as they are just too heavy, complicated, expensive and underpowered to be taken seriously.  We'd make fun of Guzzi riders, but they'd not notice as they're all comparing Cappuccino  recipes right now.  Basically any bike bigger than a CBR1100xx is a fat pig, anything smaller is underpowered and too tiny to take seriously,  if it's not blue, it's slow,  if it's red, you're an attention whore,  loud pipes=small penis,   ....   anything I miss???

I didn't even vote because there wasn't an appropriate button.......

It already is a Sport Tourer so it doesn't require to be lightened to become on.

If one accelerates quickly down a steep grade the perceived weight issue will be reduced for a limited time.

And there might be a Myth busters episode on the rumored progeny due to the crossbreeding of a GS and an FJR .

Will it really result in a light blue Miata.. or are other colors possible?  Bigsmile

Yes, you missed that the OP of this thread is the chief FJR troll here... Nary a thread can go more than 2 pages without County making some manner of derogatory comment about the big Yamaha.

Oh, now you're just making things up. Next you'll say it has an automatic transmission or some fantastical drivel.

This is nothing but slander, a review of my comments shows they are 100% accurate.  It is not my responsibility to worry about how the hyper sensitive FJR riders perceive my presentation of facts...I may report your post.

Let's not be hasty here, FJR riders like Harley Davidson riders show a considerable amount of loyalty to their mounts, often mistaking the excess weight and lack of power as somehow positive attributes. Much like the Buick Electra's they were patterned after they tout their girth as "road holding weight" and the mushy suspension as providing "cloud like comfort".... Can you really blame them for their naivete`?
