FS - 1971 T125R.. VIN 1125 115038

I purchased this bike in parts in 1996 I started the transformation from a rat bike to an interpretation of its former glory.
The stinger received "New Old Stock" cylinders and pistons, new rebuild carb kit, new pegs rubbers, new levers, brake shoes fr & rr, all new cables and new switch gear. I went with flat bars and the shorter cables the way it was sold in Japan and Europe. N American models received the "western handlebar" option. Russ from Custom Classic Paint did the paint work & Rich's upholstery did the seat. I rode it a bit early on, took it to the tiddler tour on Vashon and then I let it sit from 2001 - 2012 :scratchea

Had to go through the carbs (again) and this time I decided to dive in and clean up all the little crusty wire harness issues that hunted it and complete the project once and for all!  New battery installed and full tune completed in March 2012.

More about the model:
The T125R "Stinger" is a twin cylinder, twin carbed two stroke. It was the competitor to the CB160 club racers back in the day.    The "R" model was not available in all countries. Many countries, at least in Europe, continued selling the T125-II until 1972. Only the USA full-line catalog shows T125R model, that had adapted the T125 Wolf fuel tank, earlier available only in Japan but with different graphics. Apparently the tank color Candy Lime Green (Morrow Green is the USA) was not available in Japan. I choose to go with the rare candy lime green color. The 1971-year's model also had a longer seat , a longer rear fender and some other small details that set it apart from the earlier models.

The decal on the T125R oil tank does not have '125' like the others, it says 'CCI'. The fuel cap is also much larger. Some T125 models sold. I had trouble finding the CCI decals so I went with Suzuki Motor Co ones.

Its hard to find much info on this model but I assume that the bike was mechanically unchanged from the previous year's model.
