Saw this link on svrider - it's a good overview on the history and development of the venerable and awesome SV!

Great article. Thanks.
It seriously bumped up my decision to buy one.

I picked up a leftover 09 Gladius (SFV650) at the end of last season. I got it for a song. It's been a fantastic motorcycle.
I did a few mods including upgrading the front and rear suspension. I like it enough that I sold my SV1000S and my Buell 1125R and the Gladius is now my only motorcycle.

And the unbelievable follow-up is that Suzuki has since stopped importing any SV's to the US.
My wife bought a SFV650 Gladius this year, which uses the same engine as the newly redesigned Wee Stroms. I agree with Tpoppa - it's a great bike!

WOW. Just read this. I guess the resale value of mine will go up. I wouldn't go swapping out pistons. I'd either look for the SV1000, or a GSX R750, and modify it. This was the last of the inexpensive midsized sport bikes.

The SV 650 rocks. I race two and have two more in the garage.

Holy crap!
I have a 2006, but I'm wanting a 6th gen VFR800. I don't want to part with the SV but not sure I can keep both.
