A couple years ago I traded my car for a learning bike.  I got a GS500F.

I don't drop it as much anymore and I'm done learning so I want to step up now and get a decent bike.

A friend tryed to tell me the ZX10R was fast, and someone said the S1000 was good.  But I really don't want an intermediate step with something milktoast cuz I'll just end up tradeing it in 6 months or so, I'm sure.  I also don't want something old, so I think 10k miles is a good maximum.

The question is on a ZX14 or Busa what kind of burnout is good for a testride?  I want to be sure it does all that but with the power should I keep it brief or just do what I want to it?

If you wrap the rear tire with duct tape first you can smoker it even longer before it pops.

You again with your big bike aspirations? The GS500 is a decent bike and goes very fast if you know how to ride it. For burnout questions refer to labusas.com or the 4:20 forums.

Well first off, the zx14 and busa are really down on power unless you can find one with a turbo.  Then you might be alright.  The S1000 and zx10 are fast, but you might have to tell your parents that you're gay if you buy the wrong color.  I would suggest that to really own the road, the "new" TU250 from Suzuki is the bike to have.  Add a two brothers pipe and a power commander and the other riders will bow down to your greatness, even the Ural riders.   Hail

I believe the Busa and 14 are death traps.

Buy the 10R or S1000.  The electronic rider aides are perfect for a guy like you. Thumbsup

If you are buying from an individual you should keep it brief.  If it is a dealer's bike and he has give you the keys just do what you want.

Glad to help...

Bring a small water bottle full of bleach, the sheer whiteness of the smoke is amazing.

In case anyone forgot, here's a refresher:

"I guess y'all would think me a squid.

I'm test driving motorcycles right now to see which one will do as a trade for my Mustang.

I don't wear a helmet, 'cuz I want to hear the engine and transmission.

I wheelie and stoppie the bike as much as possible on my 50-mile test rides.  Much of the time the bike is at WOT.

I've had a few engines grenade on me during my tests, and I wrecked a couple of bikes.  It's good to treat em like that so you can see which ones were weak or poorly maintained before buying them.  Oh, and a helmet would'a never helped me neither on my test runs.  Never got my head hit.  I don't see the big deal.

In my case, I'm not a squid, just a cautious consumer."

Don't waste your money on slow bikes like the Busa's and ZX14r's. Those are training bikes for the Honda Superhawk's. They go 205 mph dontcha know!

Your friend is wrong.  What you need is a turbo Hayabusa with nitrous oxide boost!

iirc, that was actually an RC51 in that case. So he had not shifted out of fourth yet, cuz the rc51 is even faster than the 205 MPH superhawk.
