Price "rollbacks."

A lil spendy, IMO, but bikes are free in May

Took the Lake Express last year. In years past, bikes were free May & June. Must have decided to roll that back too. Pricey, yes. But it beats the Badger up in Ludington in both cost and travel time.

Wow, even with the 'rollbacks' it's more expensive than I recall. Then again, I think it was waaay back in 2006 that I used the LE one way.  Wink

As much as i would like to try this even with motorcycles free i just can't stomach the $90.00 just for a seat.

I could ride to Muskegon on the bike for around $25.00.

it would take me almost 2 hours to get to Milwaukee and then the time to cross the lake i can ride to muskegon in the the same time.

The Badger is actually cheaper, unless you get extra stuff like cabins. Of course, the LE doesn't even have cabins....

If I was going to take a ferry and time wasn't an issue I would totally go Badger. It has more style.

The missus and I took the Badger a couple of years ago. We figured the price was about a wash. The cost of the extra mileage, food, maybe a motel easily add up to the cost of passage. Lake Michigan is a rather large body of water. It takes a while to ride around it.

Beside, it was a fun experience.

I used the overnight Badger sailing last year on my way home from Eagle River.  It worked with my schedule/wallet and allowed me to get 5 hours of needed sleep.  I'd use it again if the need arose.
