My Garmin 2730 has about had it, I've replaced the GPS function with a Nuvi650 ($200 from Garmin's outlet site) and need a Sat. radio.

I'm looking at an Onyx for about $100 with MC kit. Any suggestions?

This is the setup i have. The head unit is a J&M 2003.

A Zumo 450 which has a MP3 player in it.

For the XM recever I'm using a Harley Davidson XM recever. Say what you want (and god knows how much i bash HD) this thing is what i was looking for. big buttons, big display, and it's water proof. I've had it for 5 years and it's never missed a beat. (and it doesn't leak oil)

For switching the inputs of the XM and Zumo i just mounted a DPDT switch and jacks in a plastic box.

I used a Sirius Roady II for a long time on my old Concours and for the last six years or so on my Sprint.  Worked wonderfully.  But I recently switched to just using my phones MP3 player.

The satellite worked great and I loved it.  The MP3 just gives a better selection of what I want to listen to when I want to listen to it.

I had my Sirius, GPS, radar detector and Chatterbox all piped into my helmet. Somewhere I have a picture.

MXVET's setup looks pretty good- I wish the Roady had buttons like that.

The Android app was prone to cutting out.  It also uses a LOT of data, something to consider if you don't have an unlimted data plan.  Abd you must be in an area with cell service.  Usually not an issue, but something to consider if you go thaf route.

Itried the Android app for a while in my truck, but just ended up cancelling fhe service.

Strictly MP3s from my phone on the bike now.

I use the smaller cell phone sized xm on a ball mount.  It's portable and easily transfered between bikes or the car.  Nothing like zipping across Nevada out of cell phone range listening to my Rockies getting beat yet again by the Dodgers.
