That does look pretty cool!

(Although, I get the feeling it's the answer to a question that's never been asked...)

I can't imagine how difficult it would be to make a quick/sudden turn on that thing. Dualies on the rear? A short wheelbase makes it worse and the lawn mower sized front wheel and ultra sharp steering angle/trail makes it a death trap. It's an ultra-cool idea but I suspect it won't turn out to be practical in the real world.

Remember these?

I'm old enough to and I thought they were a blast. If you knew how to ride a tricycle. At speed. With bumps.

I believe the future will have a few "hybrid" type vehicles that combine the agility of a motorcycle with the safety and comfort of a car.  I watched the videos and the subsequent ones from Gizmogadgets.com.  That Nissan tandem tilting car will probably be something we'll see as we near 2025.  Ironically, the Carver Tilting Trike, now Venture One, will probably be closer to the future of motorcycling than the 4-wheeled or 1-wheeled variety.

The Mono-wheel has all the disadvantages of a cycle on a much more unstable platform.  Most likely a version of it more like the Segway or the Honda gadget will become more successful.  However, those will be limited as an alternative to walking short distances rather than covering real distance like motorcycles.

It looks like a more practical Segway - one you can scoot down the road in traffic with - moreso than an urban motorcycle. If I was a college kid with some money, I'd probably love one for getting to class and occasionally riding out of town on the weekends, provided it has the range to get anywhere. Or even if I lived in center city Philly, with the cost of parking a car and the hassle of parking a full-sized motorcycle. I think it has it's niche, but we'll see if it's audience has the means to pay the premium price it will demand when it first comes to market.

My vote goes to the BMW Clever prototype.  It's sleek, lightweight, safe, and looks like a ton of fun.  If only they put it in production with a more powerful engine.   Sad
