The old CASO sub, Cayuga sub, Exeter sub, Otterville sub, Leamington sub.......lots more.

I work for CN so railway history is part of the job.  Smile

How is that KLX for 'adventuring' around? The local drug pusher (Kawi dealer) has a barely used 2011 on the floor and it is sorely tempting! There are miles of abandoned railroad and mining roads around here that are a little much for the current Ninja...

I'm having a blast on the little KLX, it's very light and nimble. It great for exploring around with and I wish I'd have bought a bike like this years ago.

Sweet. I took his level one course in Calgary years ago. Learned an incredible amount about the mechanics of riding. You will have a ball.  Bigok

Michel Mercier .... used to watch him race at Westwood in Vancouver with Crevier, Goody and even once with Duhamel.

http://www.motorcyclehalloffame.ca/mercier_michel.htm

Great rider and peerless going from the long straight, Deers Leap and into the hairpin at Westwood on his Suzuki. He and Goodfellow had some amazing races there. Michel had fire in his eyes and, though diminutive, commanded quite the presence.  Bigok

Personally, I would call him Michel ... not Michael.  Embarassment

You're gonna hate me again. In June, I'm going to the Costiera Amalfitana by way of the Piemonte, Toscana and Umbria.  Cool
Then this summer, the Quebec north shore all the way to the end of route 138 at Natashquan. Then the ferry to Blanc Sablon and then on to NewFoundland and Nova Scotia.

I picked up an XT225 last fall...same thing, light and nimble, great for local backroads exploring. Smile

Some of my triple-digit-sightseeing coverage over the last 7 years....more than twice the circumference of the earth on the trusty old Bandit.

Looking forward to it. I need it. We must do a Lolo Pass loop one of these days Jim.  Perhaps as part of the fall colours ride.
Hope to see you at the Borscht Burn in July.

Labor Day (Sept 3rd), my buddy and I are leaving home (Philadelphia, PA for me, and he's near Baltimore) and going to HELL!!!  Hell, Michigan, actually. Then up through Sault Ste Marie and heading up to the James Bay Road to check that out. Then we'll head back down through Montreal and down through the Adirondacks and Catskills of New York. All in all, about two weeks and 3,000 miles on the road, if things go according to our loosely-based plans. We're bringing camping gear and extra fuel cans, of course.

Can we assume that stealth-camping in the "wilderness" in Canada is acceptable? Here in the 'States, even "in the middle of nowhere", everywhere seems to be either private property or government property. If signs for campsites aren't posted, you're usually trespassing. We've ben led to believe much of Canada is wide open for the taking, so dropping the tents a little ways off the side of the road when it's getting dark might not be as big an issue there? (I'm asking because I really have no idea.)

Cool.

Once you get passed the major urban centers you'll find a crap load of campgrounds. Some good, some, well, crap.  Lots of times, especially once you get about 200km north of the border, you can go commando camping with little problem. Just be somewhat smart about it.
