I am headed to Winthrhop Washington on May 4th  ... I have a week or two off this summer but plans are vague. I suspect this will be the year of the one 4-5 day ride trips and the likelihood of us going far from aging parents is ... well ... unlikely.  Aside from that I plan quite a few overnights and more camping now that I have my kit so well figured out.  Razz

How about you? What are you up to in your mind or actual plans ... I love to live vicariously through you all.  Oh, take more pics and post them you lazy lot !!

Long weekend trips for me this summer as well, with some faint hope of sneaking in a full week.  My project is running at full steam, and I'll be working a month and a half in the UK between now and August, two weeks at a time.  Actually leaving on the first two week trip this Saturday and won't be back until May 13th.

Suppose I could take some extra time at the end of one of those London work sessions and do a UK/Euro vacation, but I've really seen all I want to see of Europe by car/train/plane, and don't foresee myself having pockets deep enough to hire a bike and do it the way I want to. Sad

Good news is, we've scheduled my trips to London around the Olympics there.  Which means I will be in Canada for sure during the KBBB, and I've already booked a 4 day weekend for it.  But that's the only certain trip.

My dear wife of 35 years and I are leaving the 8th of May for Kamloops, Whistler and then Vancouver for a few days. Over to the Island on the 13th for two days of family stuff and then off to Seattle via the Anacortes ferry. A couple of days in Seattle with friends who will then join us for a trip down the coast. 3 couples, two up on ST1300 Hondas. The plan is to take 3 days and meander down to Northern California before heading back, probably via central Oregon and then Eastern Washington. Thats about as far as we've planned. We have to be back in Canmore on the 25th.

June I'm still tentatively attending the FJR rally, it's somewhere in BC I think  Wink. The Western ST rally is in Golden CO. this year and I'm in for that. Probably take the GS and do some dual sport as I'll be single for that one. I figure if I ride a Honda to the Yamaha rally I should take a BMW to the Honda gathering. LOL

September 30th we start an Edelweiss tour in Italy with another couple we've ridden with for years. 9 days in Tuscany...

A good year? Yes, probably better than most. I'm lucky to have a spouse that understands what I love to do and enjoys it with me. I do love retirement.  Bigok

3 week bike trip in June. About 11,000km through Alberta, BC, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming,  etc.  Have a condo in Sedona for a week, so will do some day loops out of there when we are not sampling some local IPA and lounging by the pool.  And I will do my best to get to the Borscht Burn in July.  Smile

We're moving across the country and starting new jobs this summer, so riding time will be restricted.

But squeezed into that, I'll take my son on his first tour as a high school graduation present. We'll head down the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Dragon. I think the BRP is a great place to learn.

After that, I'll ride the bike out to the new home rather than shipping it. A few stops on the way to visit friends and family, but not a lot of sightseeing -- just a long haul through the heat.

And after that, it will be mostly day rides to find the fun local roads. And figuring out the whole lane splitting thing.

Just wrapping up the Spain to Bulgaria tour, the KBB&B is an absolute essential, probably a run to Vancouver Island and then I'm planning a quick trip to Russia with a side trip to the Baltics on one end.

Just like you Jim I am worrying about my aging parents (89 & 85) but if things stay stable with them I'll do a trip.

I am going down to the ST.N National in June with two riding friends from Moncton and possibly a third one from the Province of PEI.  Mapquest tells me that it's a 3,300 km ride one way but we'll take the scenic route Smile  and extend that a little bit.  We are planning on two weeks but I'll probably take an extra week vacation just in case.

Other than the bike trip, Sue and I will probably do something in a cage in Sept.

I already did a little vacation trip this year in March by doing Banff and Jasper in a rented cage as an extension of a business trip in Calgary.  The mountains are beautiful in the winter with the snow.

May 10-14 I'll be on my way to staying at and coming back from Marble Falls, Arkansas for the MSTA T-24 rally then on the 16th two days after I get back me and my dad's friends are heading to Ruidoso then back that Sunday after, should put in around 4 and 5k miles that week.

Almost had to sell my soul at work cause there's a change of command, Wing Inspection, and CG Inspection all that week and weekend.  Lucky for me my leave paper work showed I originally put in for it back in January before we knew about any of that and I told'em I had already invested money into both trips as far as camping reservations and what not.

No visa needed now. Stayed in Sofia twice but I've got in late and left (sorta) early both times so haven't explored the city to any extent.

Plans are up in the air. I'm trying hard to relo out to Kamloops/Kelowna.

If I don't. Virginia in May, Vermont in Aug., NC in Sept. Still looking for stuff to do in June and July. Maybe some minimalist touring on the CBR250R.

If I do. National FJR Rally in Castlegar Ferry to Haines AK and ride back down. Otherwise WOOF'nHOO!

I plan on riding down a bunch of the old abandoned railway beds in SW Ontario. See if I can find some more old bridges, equipment and signal shacks.
