1975 Honda CB550K 26K on the odometer.

This bike was a winter project for me undergoing a light to moderate restoration. This was by no means meant to be a complete ground up project like it came off the showroom floor. I just made it so that it was reliable, safe and looked pretty good. I would rate it now aesthetically at around a 7-8. There is some chrome flaking and pitting. The aluminum is oxidized and so on. Many things were fixed or cleaned up but the bike had "good bones" to start with. It was sitting in my buddies back yard for several years completely neglected and non running. It now starts right up and purrs.

It is an absolute hoot to ride around town. Gets lots of looks and thumbs up.

PROS:
New Plugs
New Battery
Electrical system cleaned up and faults fixed
Carbs were stripped down and thoroughly cleaned
Forks seals replaced/oil changed
Front brake disassembled and cleaned. Fluid flushed
New chain
Fuel tank was coated by some previous owner
Tank was painted
Plastics and saddle bags painted
All chrome was polished
Oil changed/new filter installed
New points/condensors
Cables adjusted and lubed
Seat reupholstered

Cons:
Paint looks good but is not completely flawless.
Needs a new rear tire /tube(Dry rotted, holds air and I have ridden on it but it needs replaced)
Ordered new tire and tube 5/01/12
Chrome not perfect. Has pitting on exhaust. Front fender some of the chrome is chipped off
Needs new front brake bleed screw( will replace this week)
Needs right side battery plastic cover( Will order one this week and paint it but it obviously is not in the pics) Ordered 5/01/12
Needs a new Tach cable. Ordered 5/01/12
Gauge faces are faded
Exhaust pipe #3 was repaired at some point in its life. You can see it in one of the pics.
Left saddlebag brake light cover has a small piece missing
Horn doesnt work( I planned on replacing this but forgot about it until now. I will more then likely replace it this week) Ordered 5/01/12

This bike hasn't been titled for about 10 years. I filed all the paperwork on Friday with my local State Reps. office, so I should have the title in a week or two. If anyone is interested I will hold the bike until the title shows without a deposit on your end.

I am honestly not sure what to price this at so I am going to go with $1600. If that seems completely unreasonable, please feel free to let me know

I think it looks great (though I'd paint the saddlebags to match) and your asking price is very reasonable.  Thumbsup

That's cool and price seems fair.

I had a fleet of these things back in the day. Such great bikes for their time.  Thumbsup

Yep same here, back in the day I had at least 2 of them at any given time (550 & 350s)

Brings back some good memories as well as a few not so good ones

Cool bike at a very reasonable price.   If you were closer I'd have a hard time resisting...
