There is also the matter that a good deal of what we eat is practically toxic.

Nutrasweet (and its other named generics)...a neurotoxin developed by the DOD. Yes, the FDA approved nerve agent as a food additive because it tricks your brain into thinking something tastes sweet. Actually makes it harder to lose weight and is bad for diabetics.

Most fats used in fried foods...have chemical compounds that actually create an addictive craving. The more you have it, the more you want it. Stimulates the pleasure centers.

Whole grain foods? Yeah. Right. Now that Monsanto has GMO grains in most all food products, you don't know what level of toxins or other crap is being pumped into you that's engineered right into the plant from germination that can't be washed off after harvesting.
