Texas does the same and has been for a while. No stand alone signs though except for in the Hill Country. |

Maybe the article meant to say first in 'County' not 'Country'... Anyway, first metal road sign I've seen like it but hey, I do live in the South afterall  |

I've never understood this argument. It's an argument used for a whole lot of silly stuff that costs a lot of money and generally saves no lives to very few lives. Human life does infact have a value and if saves no lives and they spend millions what good was it. If it saves 2 lives and they spend millions was it worth it? Will those 2 people who were saved make those millions or pay those millions in taxes in their lifetime? Don't get me wrong there are good things that happen that saves lots of lives and costs money but there are limits in my mind on how much we are willing to spend to save "even one life". |

Agree completely. It's a terrible argument to make. Like those that have been pushing smart technology handguns that have yet to reach 100% reliability. But if it saves one life..... If it fails and costs you yours too bad. I also did a TDY to Ft. Worth NAS back in 1999 or 2000. I loved Texas and tried to go every chance I got. |
