Coming to Brisbane for a couple days work. Any tips for a days ride?

Looks like I'll be coming to Griffin (Brisbane) for work in May. I'm thinking of taking a day or two for personal time and renting a bike.
Any advice on where to rent a bike and where I might want to ride?
I'd like the ride to be not too long so I have ample time to get off the bike and sample the local flavor. I should specify the Best Local Flavor. No need to steer me somewhere where a smooth talking cutie will bilk me of my earthly possessions before handing me over to a knuckle dragging thug for a "tune up".
Thanks in advance,
Steve

There is a lot of good riding around Brisbane.
If you have only one day you may want to try obtain a bike the afternoon before if possible to maximize your time on the day.
The many good roads in the hinterland of the Gold Coast would be my choice.
I have a blog where I have listed every road around Brisbane which should let you choose a route for the day.
motorcycleparadise.blogspot.com.au but as for rental shops best to Google Brisbane and Gold coast motorcycle rentals.
