I'm a huge Google user...Gmail, Calender, Docs, Music, Books, Voice, Picasa, and all the Android stuff.

The day G+ launched last year, I shut down my FB and Twitter accounts and haven't looked back.  I could give a shit if co-worker #27 likes Obama's haircut or former classmate #13 is posting pictures of her dinner entree or Candidate/Corporation/Celebrity #72 is begging for "likes".

My life continued on just fine without either one of them.  G+ suits me far better.  It's quieter, but the signal-to-noise ratio is insanely better, and I have a lot more (very easy) control over what I share and what I see.  It also integrates awesomely with the other Google services (duh) and has excellent Android support.

With G+ you can get in, get what you need and get out, which is ideal for me.  I save the bulk of my socializing for real people.  Smile

I really like this post, and the idea behind it. Having said that, I do talk quite a bit on FB with people who just feel more comfortable there. Plus the exposure for one of my public ventures is far, far better there.  Sad

this is my hammer. my dad gave it to me. he got it from his dad who got it from his before him. it's been in the family for generations. we've had to replace the handle a few times and the head twice but it priceless because of its family history.

My thoughts exactly.  I closed down Facebook when G+ appeared.  G+ and Facebook aren't even competitors IMO:

On Facebook, I would connect with family and (old) friends.  Then get spammed with Farmville requests  Bigsmile
On G+ I can connect to/follow people that have similar interests, or are leaders in their fields.  Works very well.

I really like that whatever photos I take automatically are uploaded to G+ (Picasa).  I have it set to NOT automatically share, but can change that from my phone.  Very nice.

Your facebook inertia comment is right on. Google Plus is fighting an uphill battle on a sheer cliff made of oiled glass.

the venture capital arm of the CIA invested in FB for a reason... and it's paying off for them.

Yeah, I voted don't need no social network.

Years ago, not sure how many, do you remember the first Go-Daddy Super-Bowl commercial?

Yeah, me neither, but it did work, because I looked them up on google and purchased an account shortly after...

It's cheap and I have my own special place to upload stuff and share if I wish, and/or not....

Not sure why I still have this 70 mb version of the classic Barges vid, parked up there a few years ago. The video res is pretty crappy, but if you watch at 200x200 pixels or so, not so bad...   Lol

(Probably best bet to right-click and save, and then view. But I don't really care what you do, it's prepaid bandwidth that I barely use...)
