There are plenty of 19 year old race car drivers.  Age has nothing to do with it.

Now maturity on the other hand....

Rich idiots in Ferrari's getting their rocks off on the street cost's a life.  Thumbsdown

What kind of parents give their 19-year-old kid a Ferrari?

Did you guys even read the article?   Rolleyes

- The automobiles, which cost several hundred thousand dollars, are owned by Gotham Dream Cars of Englewood and were being driven by employees of the company,

RIP

Hope they are both bent over in criminal and civil courts. Mad2  The ironic thing is they were (from the sound of it) right next to the track they planned drive on.  Couldn't they wait?

It's not a track per say.  There is no "Track" at the Meadowlands.  They create a track using cones in the massive parking lot.  They could easily drive off the "Track".  Wink

Gotham rents high-end sports cars and holds the sprint in which customers pay $100 to drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini three laps around a closed course in parking lots E or J near the Meadowlands’ Racetrack.

Did all of you fuckers lose the ability to read?

The two drivers were employees of the company selling the laps to people paying $100 for three laps of a track laid out in the stadium parking lot.  They were taking the cars to get them gassed up for the day, if my reading comprehension is correct.

But it's so much easier to be 'spoon fed' the information.   Bigok

Seriously though, it doesn't matter if the kid is rich or poor, whether he owned, borrowed or stole the Ferrari, or even whether he's 19 or 49....the fact of the matter is that he over-stepped his capabilities in an environment where he shouldn't have been trying in the first place, and cost an innocent person their life. Period.

The second "genius" part is OK, but the first part is the most important to get to do!

I did an event earlier this year at New Jersey Motorsports Park - $129 for 2 laps driving a Ferrari F430, then a Lamborghini Gallardo.  Not sure if it was the same outfit or not.

If my ST-N reading comprehension is correct, what you're saying is when you were 19 your parents gave you a Ferrari to drive and you went racing with it, and it cost you several thousand $$?

Just did a similar event in Lost Wages at exotics racing.  7 hot laps of a real road course in a 458 Italia and 5 laps in a Mercedes SLS.  A lot more than $100, but a great bucket list item checked off.

They shoulda rented some of those sweet 150mph Volvos.

Not that it matters but the 19 yr old lost control and the 28 yr old hit the motorcycle, seems like they were racing back after refueling the cars and lost control.
