Triumph not doing demos in 2012?
«
on:
May 15, 2012, 02:08:08 PM »
I just spoke to my local Triumph dealer about whether there would be a Sprint GT at the upcoming demo day. She said that there wouldn't, so I asked if this was just a dealer specific event, or the Triumph sponsored event. She answered that it is a dealer event and that Triumph is not doing demo events, other than at large, national bike events.
"I guess it was really expensive to drive around with a trailer full of bikes," she mused.
Yes, I agree, but how is Triumph supposed to attract new buyers who might not have otherwise tried them? And what about whetting the appetites of people who are saving up for a new one?
Does anyone know if Triumph is having any events in the Northeast US? I want to ride the Sprint, damn it!

If they want to sell bikes the dealership should provide a demo.
I've worked Triumph and BMW factory demo days and neither marque is making the rounds though here this year.

Any decent Triumph dealer should let you do a test ride. I miss the demo truck too, but these are lean times...

All the Triumph dealers that I have been around in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado seem to offer test rides.

Which is funny because at the Triumph demo ride I did 2 years ago in NH, the rep said is was cheaper to do the rides than the big events and it gave them better exposure with people more likely to buy their bikes

If the dealer that you were at does not have a Sprint demo model, check with other dealers nearby. Or fill out the simple form on the Triumph website to request a test ride:
https://www.my-triumph.net/sso/test-ride-request/
I was looking for info on the demo truck schedule and now I see why it wasn't to be found.
I have ridden many Triumph demos and a few through the Demo Truck. The demo truck test rides were not nearly as good as the dealer test rides mostly because there is such a large group with the demo truck. If you can get the bike to yourself to enjoy, that is my preference.

The thread title states "not doing demos" but I think you meant "not doing demo EVENTS".
When I first read the thread title, I read it as Triumph not letting you demo ride at your local dealer. Carry on.

Sorry, Mike. In my distress, I didn't think about how that could be misunderstood. I'm usually more careful about subject lines, since I have often complained that "WTF" or "I can't believe this" are completely unhelpful in letting someone know what the thread is about.
Carry on.
