All

OMB is home, and, as they say, resting comfrotably.

She had an unplanned person/asphalt interface last Saturday at TWISTar up near LaCross, Wisconsin.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that a couple of rider/EMTs happened on the scene immediately, and took the proper steps -- along with that, many other kind souls (you know who you are) stopped and helped, or appropriately stayed out of the way and kept me from becoming a problem to the pros . . . .

Gunderson Lutheran in LaCross is aces, I'm here to tell ya.

Damage to the bike (because you are who you are, and someone will ask) is cosmetic -- what's the best product for removing freash tar and asphalt from the crooks and nannies of a motorcycle?

OMB won't be riding for a bit, and I will be learning how to put allllllll those flowers she bought last weekend into the ground properly -- a new skil for me, one which OMB says she will happily oversee!

Lastly, Brook and I are both greatly touched by the literal outpouring of offers of assistance, prayers, good wishes, and all 'round goodness coming from you all . . . . .thank you so much, and, rest assured, if there's anything you can do, we'll fire a flare.

Love,

Us

First: Sorry to hear the news. I missed it.

Yikes!  Good to hear you still have your gardening supervisor in one piece and functioning.  Heal quick, OMB.

Keep us posted.  Understood why you might not make the BBQ at Clays, but please plant those flowers quickly if it will make a difference.  Glad she's ok.

Sorry to hear of the off.  Sending good thoughts.

Not surprised at your lack of green fingers - the task is not nearly noisy enough.  Glad to hear she'll be able to oversee things.

Oh no!  I'm glad to hear that Brook is OK and recovering.  If you want, John, I could also help with the gardening.  I have been known to dig a hole or two in my time.  And even put plants in them!

Glad to hear that Brook and you are home now. It was kinda lonely siting around Saturday night with out Brooks personality and your Witt. We did however have ice cream in her Honor.

You two did miss a good Prime Rib dinner. Just that more for Ben.

I was 2 bikes behind Brook and didn't actually see it happen (i was to focused on the turn) but when i looked up i saw her laying there and was able to stop and block some of the road. The 2 EMT's were with her before i could get my helmet off.

I bet your pretty sore rite now. Have some ice cream (or have John get it for you) that will make you feel better.

BTW try using fuel oil to get the tar off. Minarial spirits will work to.

Ed -- you did exactly the right stuff -- in addition, you kept me from wandering aimlessly into traffic (for which I thank you). Ice creram is the best way to think about OMB.

Connie -- OMB is a riff on my wife's name -- thanks for your kind wishes!

I think there should be an Ice Cream meet at the lab this Sunday. What do think??

Everybody bring Brooke a pint or 3.
