The Multi is a little past due it's next major service, and I'd rather not have to spend $1100+ at the dealer.  Anyone know of a good indy shop or person within 200 miles or so of Philly that can work on the desmo?  Belts, valves, etc.

I don't mind doing oil changes/brakes and other routine maintenance myself, but no way am I comfortable attacking the motor.

Thanks!

Speedwerks, Dover DE. They have done plenty of Ducati work, to include race prep.  http://www.speedwerks.com/   Tell Steve (the owner) that Jay Bob refered you.

I'll second that. Steve has been taking care of my SV for several years now with no complaints.

Dewey is in our Desmo Owners Club and did work on my ST as well as on several others bikes.  He does top notch work at beyond resonable rates.  He's in the Lancaster area.

More info please!  Who is Dewey associated with and which Desmo club is this?  If you'd rather, PM me.  I've been looking for reasonable place for work on my 996...

Dewey is in this thread. Get it from the horse's mouth.  Thumbsup

That's my favorite thing about this site: there's such a cross section of people here, that you're bound to find SOMEONE who knows what you're looking for.  Bigok

this is my hammer. my dad gave it to me. he got it from his dad who got it from his before him. it's been in the family for generations. we've had to replace the handle a few times and the head twice but it priceless because of its family history.

I'm not associated with any dealership, I'm a gunmaker (www.vicknairrestorations.com) by trade and I've got 25 years experience working on European bikes.  I don't advertise motorcycle services but rely on word-of-mouth.
I use only the best parts, I don't take shortcuts, and "good enough" isn't.

I have met a number of the Ducati club members.  Good guys.  I am wondering if the club has maintenance lab days for people to learn Ducati servicing such as valve adjustments.  I have wanted a Ducati for awhile but the high costs of regular maintenance has held me back.
