Any recommendations of Motels in southern West Virginia? Biker friendly/convenient/safe?

How far south?  I wouldn't recommend very many places further south of Beckley through Huntington

I've stayed in Marion (VA) multiple times. There are a few motels right where the awesome route 16 comes into town. It's a fun romp north to Tazewell on 16 and only a few miles farther north to the WV border (town of War).

As R Doug says, there's not much in extreme southern WV. You might find some moto-friendly lodging near the Hatfield-McCoy trail system (Pineville, Logan, etc) as they cater to ATV and dirt bike riders.

Depending on your definition of "south," I'd recommend the Quality Inn in Lewisburg. Gas and a Wal-Mart are nearby; grub is walkable (Ruby Tuesdays). Continental breakfast is free the next morning. And rates are reasonable. It was the hotel for the 2010 ST.N Nationals and Cablebandit, Smoker, Andrea, and I stayed there one night last fall on our five-day trip.

Fayetteville of New River Gorge Bridge fame has lodging. We stayed at the Quality Inn. It was what you would expect. They did have a lounge with cold beer.

Marlington has the Old Clark Inn. Sort of a B&B. Nice place. Marlington also has the Marlinton Motor Inn. Little mom and pop place didnt stay there but it has hosted an ADV rally or two from what I have heard.

Paint Bank, VA is just across the border. There is a place there called the Depot Lodge. Looks like a B&B. We didnt stay there as we were just stopping for lunch, did look like a very nice, well kept extablishment.

Do be carefull where you plan to stay. Some places you will find on Google dont exist or are just downright scary.

Hi there,
I think that the best solution for you is going to a hotel comparison website.
I found this website called "Hotels Seeker", it has a great hotel database and it gives all the details you need.
Here's a link : http://www.hotels-seeker.com?label=boris

Hope it helps !

It does indeed.  Best deal going in the area IMO, especially for a group.

Stayed in Marion too a bunch of times.  Decent cheapo mexican joint near tractor supply.  LOL

Just hosted Beakster Bash IX at the Quality Inn in Lewisburg, WV last weekend.
Try to book for rooms around the back(#'s 168-176) away from the B.S.
Quiet, secluded, and safe.

Boyer Station!

I tried to stay there Sunday. No one was home.

I've stayed a few times at The Four Seasons Motel in Richwood.
Great central location and motorcycle friendly but you'll
probably have to ride to Summersville for a decent meal.

WV separated from the Confederate state of Virginia in 1863 and aligned with the Union. Technically, West Virginians are Yankees.

EDIT to add:  Though, most folks living in southen WV will never agree they're Yankees.   Lol
