As long as the weather cooperates.  I'd love to get out and see it, but I don't think school will cooperate.  Crazy

For sure.  I toured it as a kid.  Had I known this was happening, I'd have taken my kids to it before they closed it down.

It ain't the same, but a crossing on the Badger can give a lil taste of what life might have been like . . . .they've got Group Rates (29 Cahs Dollars American for students) -- perhaps you could put something together for your school -- goodness know the vessel could use some positive press!

I would have taken my kids too.  I also toured that boat as a young kid.

Thanks for update Clay.
Bad timing, I agreed a week ago to chauffeur my wife and one of her girl friends to Shipshewana.

It would have been cool to watch them work her out of there.  Is it just supposed to take a day to do it?

Currently the departing time is scheduled for around 7 am.  It will be slow going through the Saugatuck channel, as it's dredged for a 50 foot ship and the Keewatin is 48.  It will take nearly a month for it to get to Canada.  I plan to try to talk my brother into a plane ride this weekend to get some pictures of it on the big lake.   Thumbsup

Brings back memories of the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper. Crossed the lake a number of times in that ship with my parents.

They are trying again tomorrow at 6AM.  WZZM had a live webcam setup- I wonder if they will do it again tomorrow.  Here's the link:

It's in the harbor waiting a Coast Guard inspection frost thing Monday morning, then it's out to the lake.
