Great memories of oh...every supersport and DSB race ever held at Road America. Plus I'll never forget Blake Young snookering Aaron Yates with that behind-the-back-across-the-grass pass to win the last 1000cc Superstock race at Road America a few years back. Last year's Superbike races were good but I'm not sure that will be the case this weekend. Hayes is in"statement mode" running two seconds faster than anyone else in the first few sessions.  EEK!  It will be fun to see which Blake Young shows up this weekend.

Yeah, that 2-second differential had my jaw hanging. Should be a great weekend at one of the finest tracks in the US.

Yosh guys gonna have to squeeze a bit more out of the gixxer for Young to go with Hayes. Hayes said yesterday that Blake tried latching onto him in the first practice but he wasn't going to have it and checked out. Graves boys have improved the R1 since last year but the Yosh bikes not so much...

Should be a great weekend at one of the finest tracks in the US.

Road America?
IYO for those that have been there, is it at the least a World Superbike quality track?  (maybe Moto-GP even?)
Indy is a awesome facility and I really enjoyed the Moto-GP but I would have a better time in a less metro type environment.
I would love to see a World Superbike race, Road America is half the distance than Miller, a distance I can get the time off work to attend.  Thumbsup

Road America is a fantastic , old school high speed track . 4 miles . Bikes reach close to Vmax in three places in the track .

There are hardly any flat sections , roller coaster ride most of the lap . It is huge fun on powerful machine like 1000cc 4 cylinders and such , but on something with less steam those WOT sections take looooooooong time .
One year I rode aircooled Buell , I could almost take a nap on some parts of the track .

As far as WSB or MotoGp it is not gonna happen in  current configuration , as I understand there is an issue with ambulance in certain parts ( it would take too long to get there ) and the run to the Canada Corner is very , very hairy in the wet .
They literately would have to move the mountain in order for the track to pass international specs , whatever they are .

Compared to Indy RA is a spectator dream , you can take the bike to the infield , if visiting by the car bicycle is pretty much mandatory . It is a huge place .

What tomek said. RA would have to be shortened a bit. Those MotoGP and WSBK organisers like lap times in the 1:20 to 1:30 range. Better for TV and spectators In their thinking I guess.

I went there a few times in the late '70s for car races. The June Sprints (do they still have those?) Were a real big deal for the SCCA's Chicago region. It's a beautiful place to watch races and consume brats and beer.

Fun weekend. Hayes is in crushing mode. Sudden pile of excuses about the Yosh Gixxer is curious. Plenty of excitement up front in both DSB races and a great finish on Sunday. More props to Bobby Fong for his Saturday ride and JD Beach for his Sunday ride.
