Yup, this is the one I just bought from R Doug.
Even though I wear s 42 in every other jacket and the Aerostich folks recommended a 42 Darien this jacket is just way to big for my liking. Bummer.
So, I'm offering it up again. It is in really good shape. Looks like a little pet hair stuck to the Velcro and a bug splat if you want to get picky about it. Wink

$225.00 + shipping. ...Or trade for a GoPro Hero 2 or toward an iPad. Smile

The jacket normally fits loose and baggy. They're not waist-cut jackets, allows plenty of room for layering and when it's a little loose,
it aids in the air venting.

That's the nature of the Darien's. Just FYI in case you've never had one before.

Well I've had a Roadcrafter two piece in the past, size 42, and it fit great. So I guess the Darien's may be cut bigger??
I put on my size 42 Triumph Adventure mesh jacket and was able to put this Darien on over it. Unfortunately it's just too big. Sad
The most I'd wear under it would be a heated jacket anyway.

That's not too big, that's the way they fit. Trust me, that bit of baggy will be welcome in the hot. Helps with big airflow through the jacket. If you normally wear a 42 in everything else, then you've got the right size Darien. It just may seem a little alien to you at first after getting used to wearing snug-fit jackets.

I normally wear a 44. I have a snugger-fitting Roadcrafter jacket in 44 and it's a good fit. I can get a Gerbing under there but then it's a little tight.

I have a 46 Darien and it's just right for layering and it flows tons of air when I open the zippers.

Darien is a larger-cut baggier jacket by nature, that's the way they are.

You're passing up a GREAT deal on a very clean GREAT piece of gear. When mine wears out, it's getting replaced by exactly the same.

I have a pair of Darien pants too. This stuff is my daily staple gear unless it's really hot out or I'm heading South of the M-D line. I have yet to find anything that
comes close to comfort, functionality and just plain performance of the 'stich gear. It ain't just drinking the kool-aid, the stuff really works.

If you keep that Darien jacket, and get the matching pants, you'll have one of the most waterproof and versatile suits on the market IMHO.

I paid $200 for mine and it was a lot more beat than RDougs' old jacket you have there.

Then again, you don't like it?, you don't like it. It's your deal, just trying to enlighten a bit.

As above. I have many miles on the 2 Darien combos I've owned; it fits much different than my RC combo. That Darien roominess will allow lots of airflow in the heat, and in the winter you'll have lots of layering room.

A 42 would be perfect BUT I've never tried on a Darien and if they're that baggy I want no part of them. Bummer, cause I'm not impressed with my Fieldsheer jacket and have been half-assed looking for a replacement. The price is excellent and you shouldn't have too much of a problem selling it  Thumbsup

Sammy you wouldn't like them if you don't like the bagginess. However first time you're in a balls-out downpour you'll learn to fall in love with it.  Thumbsup

How about a Escort 9500i with remote indicator and bar mount? I'm 60 years old, a speeding ticket would give me something to brag about. You pay your shipping and I'll pay mine.

Screw it. I've decided to hang onto it and just wear it.
Besides, it's paid for. Smile

You'll learn to appreciate it. Wait till yer first downpour.  Thumbsup

And congratulations on earning dork points with the jacket. Let us know how many "firefighter" comments you get.  Lol Lol

Heads up on the top pockets. Zip them. You'll lose shit out of them if you don't. Not a good place for wallets/keys. DAMHIK.

'Stich needs to stop their front pocket zippers about and inch and a half up from the bottom of the pocket. Not a zipper running all the way down.

BTW an entire 6 pack of 12 oz longnecks fit nicely into all the pockets of a Darien. Probably room for 8.

One more reason to own one.  Thumbsup

In that case I'm gonna buy an XXXL to use as a combo tent and bike cover!

Yeah, these jackets are a form of birth control I guess. But there's only so much you can do on a bike (that's not an invite for stories).

Seriously, I'm just going to get some AD1 pants, find a controller(I lost mine) for my old Widder heated gear (in case I need it in the mountains) and call it a day. Should be set for my trip.

AD1's might be hard to find. If ya can't find them just get a pair of regular Darien pants. They do fit better than the jackets. Great pants.
