well it's been over a month and 20 hrs on the new toy my 2012 Seadoo GTR 215. Just want to give some thoughts.

For myself I dont get bored while putting alot of time on the lake (lake Wylie is pretty big to explore)
I find myself more of a cruiser then thrashering her around.
It's EXTREMLY fast (67mph is best so far per gps) and the thrust from the 215HP supercharge engine is insane
Good on gas in eco mode but in sport and thrash style it will suck it down in a big hurry.
I get three outings which is around 7 hrs of fun per tank and that is riding her not beaching her time. 16gal tank
First service was done at 15hr (10hr service) chnaged oil etc. 210.00 -not bad next one ia 100hrs- I will probably take it at 50hr for an oil chnage and a check. something about making sure I dont get stuck out in the middle of a lake make me feel better.

no sign of getting bored with her any time soon.

You need to circle the coast of the great lakes or retrace the route of Louis and Clark with that thing.  I have read about others doing it and it sounds like fun.

Lewis & Clark Trail is out.  They don't allow PWC west of the Gavin's Point Dam.  I read it yesterday at the Trail Center here. That leaves circling the Great Lakes.  We await your ride report.  Rain should not stop this one.   Lol

It would definitely count as sport touring if you put some Ortlieb saddle bags on it.
There's gotta be a way to plot gas stops/carry extra fuel to do the Great Lakes circumnavigation. I want to read the ride report (with video) and the many preliminary threads that are sure to come of such an expedition. So get to planning, chop-chop.

You know you want to or you wouldn't have gotten a water motorcycle.  Wink

I'll bet it's a bitch to portage that thing.  Lol

These things always look like a hoot.  I've been thinking of renting one for an afternoon as I haven't been on a modern one.  Last time was 87 on a Jetski that looked like a Honda Ruckus that rides on a ski.  What a POS.

Kawasaki has a 300 HP one.  It's huge though so any HP advantage may be negated by it's massiveness.  Would be a fun engine in a T-Rex though. Cool

There is also the run from Miami to New York City.  Get off the lake and sport tour that thing.

the above opinion is simply that of an average middle aged hick with one too many brain injuries... or, don't take it too serious.

I was thinking of getti g the seafoo gtx260 is which has 260hp and suspension, just didn't want something that big. Trust me mine is fast enough:)

Seadoo has the best pwc in my opinion. Can't really match the closed loop cooling system and intelligent brakes.
