My first thought was all of the discomfort but none of the performance or handling. On the other hand, I a huge fan of twins in any configuration except rat bikes, so I can see the appeal from that standpoint. Bottom line, if it makes you happy then nothing or nobody else's opinion matters.

It looks like the standard Harley "peanut tank", so you can't get far enough to need a weeks worth of luggage.

Sportys handle pretty good, and the motor is very easy to bring to life cheaply.
No reason to jump on the anti-Harley bandwagon because it seems fashionable in a sport touring forum.

Deus makes some good looking bikes - that one probably goes down the road pretty good too.

Don't know the builder and don't care. I'm not a Harley basher, and I've ridden a few Sportsters of fellow friends and riders. I love Harley flat track reproductions done well, but this doesn't seem to be that. Since we're on a Sports Touring forum one might assume that a bike offered for admiration might contain the components of distance, handling, acceleration, and braking may be included. Based on the picture supplied, that isn't happening. Nothing about this bike based on the picture indicates that.

If you're whole premise is based on "looks" and "probably" then you may well be on the wrong forum.

Elitist, dilettante bullshit. Motorcycles are supposed to be fun, something that can't be measured or quantified.

Some less severe clip-ons, a stubby fender to finish out the look of the rear, and set it up about 2" taller and I could have a heck of a goos time on that.
The Sportster is such a versitile platform. It's the "shining star" in Harleys lineup in my eyes, even if they do treat it like Rodney Dangerfield (no respect).

 Thumbsdown

I rode a Sportster 48 at the local HD shop's demo days a couple of weeks ago. It was comfortable until you started the engine and pointed it down the road. It felt like it had all of 2" of suspension travel and somehow the HD 'engineers' have figured out a way to turn fuel directly into vibration without wasting any to actually produce power.

I'm a fan of the trend to Cafe style bikes and that Sporty rings my bell. With my Ass on the seat there'd be a big grin on my face. No, it's not a tourer but it sre be be great for the Sunday ride! As always.... YMMV!
