Elitist, dilettante bullshit. Motorcycles are supposed to be fun, something that can't be measured or quantified.

I miss nothing here at the Spanish Inquisition. Your allusion that this is a site for riders who apreciate refined motorcycles of a certain standard and that others might look elsewhere for their simple biking pleasures struck the chord of indignance in me.

I went back and checked...no, not there.  Or, perhaps you're just too refined and subtle for the rest of us unwashed types (but wait...we're all on this forum, so it's us you refer to in your original post...oh, man, I'm confused Crazy )

I appreciate practicality as much as the next person.
If I was going on a European tour with passenger and luggage then this wouldn't be my choice.
But then if I wanted to go for an afternoon spin through the lanes, I'd take this over any barn door two wheeled Winnebago, any day of the week.

Well then, you know better.  Yeah, they may have used a Buell engine, but they most decidedly did NOT build a Buell. Razz

But did you ever actually LOOK at it?  EEK!

I'm sorry, but saying "they built a buell" is kinda... well, I don't wish to sound insulting. I'll stick with "silly".

Gee, guys..... that really was my first thought when I saw the pic. I mean, it's a stripped down Sportster with a Buell motor. The headers are similar. Sure, it doesn't have the same type of frame as a Buell, and has twin shocks instead of an under-mount monoshock; but if you took my Cyclone and bobbed/chopped the rear, you'd have a bike similar to the pic. Quit dissing me, I'm sensative and might cry. Thanks.

Yeah, but...well, for most of us, it's the frame and suspension that makes a Buell what it is...take those away, and whatever you got, it ain't a Buell anymore.  If I take the engine out of an AC Cobra and put it into an old Ford pickup, does the truck magically become a Cobra?

Wrong.
I've contacted the company.
It's based on a stock 1200 Sportster INCLUDING the engine.
