I don't have all the details and at this point that's pretty useless anyway. Please keep Cindy in your prayers at this tough time. "

I just saw this in my email. I'm in shock. He's a great rider who brought out the best in everyone. He will be missed by everyone in the LD community.

He finished an amazing 5th in the IBR last year and still took the time to give me and the other rookies lots of good advice before the start.

Sounds like the truck turned in front of him. Always terrible to hear.

Before I met Curt I was at an ADV meet exposing the vitrues of this thing called the FuzeBlock. This guy  was looking over my shoulder with a smile. Later when introductions were made I discovered it was Curt. he said I was doing a good job selling Fuze Blocks and should keep up the good work.

I seemed to run into Curt everywhere after that. Sometimes very far from home. I'll miss those chance encountes.

Actually, no, not in front of him.... those associated with the MN1K said that it was simply high winds that took Curt Gran from us. A gust took him into the side of the horse trailer, and even though he was fully geared head-to-toe, the impact was severe and he died of blunt trauma.

This is truly a catastrophic loss to the Endurance Riding community.... the world is just a little bleaker with his passing.   Sad

Always sorry to hear of a rider down for good.  Sad

It's worse when it's one of an active and productive member of the MC community, no matter what forum you're on.

May it NEVER happen to ANY of us. My wish for the day. May it come true.

RIP Curt.

Has anyone seen a death notice for Curt? There is nothing in JSonline. I'm interested in information on the funeral.

Holy crap, how did I miss this news for days?

I don't know how many times and places I ran into Curt. He helped with my first (and last) fuel cell, and was always ready with a story Or silence, as appropriate.

I...honestly I'm a bit floored by this.

Per a recent post on ST-Owners.com:

The funeral will be on Saturday June 30, 2012 at 11:00AM at St Paul's Lutheran Church (420 West Ave. South, La Crosse) and a luncheon will follow at the La Crosse Center (300 Harborview Plaza).

Seems appropriate that Curt be sent off in style.

I'll make this a priority.  Anybody else up for a roadtrip next weekend?
