Hi folks. I am currently working on customer support / relations, and forum management for RKA Luggage. As an avid rider who has logged over one million miles on motorcycles since 1991, I have seen and used a ton of equipment. Richard and Kathy( the R and the K, in RKA ) have been fellow riders and great friends of mine for over ten years. They design and build soft luggage right here in Northern CA. Nothing is farmed out. All their luggage has their name on it, and has had their hands all over it. Richard also sells quite a few gadgets and electronics for motorcycling and is well versed in Bluetooth and wired comm tech of all flavors. RKA sells Sena, J&M,Starcom, Motorola,Garmin, Powerlet, Ram mount, Otter, Lifeproof, Drift Cameras, and more.

Due to dealer constraints, RKA cannot offer a discount on the soft luggage, however Richard can and will work out deals on any other accessories, and or discontinued or out of date luggage stock.

or call, and let em know RKABOB sent you from the forums.

Feel free to PM me  here with any questions as well, I’ll be monitoring this forum to answer any information, provide details, and help guide you down the right path to better motorcycling.

I have been using RKA luggage since I met Richard through a friend over a decade ago. I can speak volumes to it’s ability to withstand weather and ADV riding throughout North America. I don’t use RKA products exclusively, and I love try new products. However, the distinct advantage of RKA is the people behind them, the quality of work, and the desire to always build a top rate product that will perform as expected for a long time!

On another note,
To give you an idea what kind of luggage I use from RKA, this July, I leave for Pruhdoe Bay, Alaska. On my trip i’ll be using the following RKA products:
15.5 liter 3 point Shiloh Road Wedge
IN-Charge Communications Tankbag
with a complete starcom wired comm system, valentine one, Garmin 665, and    GMRS two way, + charging capabilities for the above, cellphone, gopros, and    other goodies.
36 liter Standard Rack Bag( older version, bag is almost 10 years old )
R1200GSA Adventure / F800GS Liners Black with Silver piping
RKA toppers for GS Adventure stock luggage

oh yea. I forgot to add that I have been here for years! I was once a mod, and many of you old timers know me. So feel free to harass, complain or otherwise annoy me about RKA luggage or any facet of riding. I ride in inclement weather and have been long distance riding for years. Not for certificates, but because I love it. My best day is 1616 miles on a KTM 950 Adv.

And yea, I am officially representing RKA. That questions bound to come up....

This is great for ST.N. RKA makes great products right here in the USA. I have an RKA tank bag, tail bag and saddle bags. All have had years of use in rain, heat, dirt, high speeds and they all still work as new.

Can't think of a better person than Bobby to represent RKA here.  Thumbsup

I didn't purchase an RKA product as it was cost prohibitive at the time, more money than I wanted to put into a comm/electric tankbag, however I will say that Richard was extremely helpful
and eager to answer my inquiries and did not treat me like a PITA customer who wouldn't open his checkbook.

I can imagine that any customer service from them would probably be exceptional.

Agreed! Our customer service is phenomenal. It's simply because the owners handle it. When there is an issue, or even a question that I can't track down, Richard and Kathy get on the phone and make sure things are taken care.

While you can't make everyone happy, they certainly give the best customer service I have seen in the industry. Richard is very adamant sometimes about the direction to go with the comm/bags because he has seen countless people try to make things work that just won't work together or is such a shortcut the customer will wind up being disappointed.

And it can be costly to get it all in one package and right. But RKA does a great job of it and in the long run I believe it saves money to build a comm  bag in the direction Richard suggests. I too have had to prolong or piecemeal stuff together once or twice, but next time I'll get Richard to do the whole thing at once.

Love the comments and I'll try to get some pics up of the work I did cleaning up my comm bag today. Getting ready for an ironbutt on Friday night, and subsequently the Pruhdoe trip in July

My RKA Tank and Tailbags were stolen from my bike at a gas stop -- the FIRST thing I did was to order replacements  . . . great gear, outstanding support, American madde and designed by riders.

Worth every penny!
