the fork seal gremlins have been busy in my garage. took the 300's to MX connection for new seals, should have them back tomorrow. Sent the 990's to superplush for seals and a revalve, looking forward to the improvement!! until then things look pretty sad in the garage:

I'm curious, how many miles did you get out of the Adventure's forks before the maintenance?

right at 10,000. I tried the 35mm film trick and it reduced the leak to a slow weep? in itsd defense I heave been riding it in pretty rough conditions the last few weeks.

last weekend I rode with a group that included a KTM530, YZF250, and F800. not wanting to be outdone I put the 990 everywhere the 530 went, probably not the best idea Rolleyes  I must admit in the proper hands (not me) the bike is amazing! even with my skills I was taking it places I never would have guessed it would go, as long as you can keep it above 10mph it is amazingly agile for its size. It is a hell of a workout though!

Garry is planning his Blackwater 400 ride later this year and I'm going to attempt it on the 990 w/o taking the big bike friendly bail out points.  His group will most likely consist of a ton or larger thumpers like his 530exc.  We'll see how well the bike (and I) hold up.   Lol

like I said it works amazingly well, but you have to be in some shape other than round. I was most impressed with the way it hooked up climbing hills.. have fun and good luck!

I've had it off road on gnarly double track before and it is amazing!  I have not done any single track.  Garry's trip contains very little of that.  But, it does include some gnarly rocky double track.

Bring it!   Bigok

rocky stuff is mostly what I have ridden and with the proper suspension mods it works very well. I do feel the scotts  stabilizer is a must, specially when you start to tire out Wink

It's my wife's, she needs something for the 60 mile commmute to work Bigsmile.. It is eleven years old and I have seen a bale of hay in the trunk, so my hick cred should be intact Headscratch  Maybe her other vehicle is more what you had in mind:

Yes, that's better.
I also like the white garden-wicket things I haven't seen since the old lady down the road died back in 1978. Bigsmile
