I don't care. I just want it to work.

Carl

It'll work. They're not really breaking any new ground here. My only questions are around price an battery life. MS says that the RT will be priced competitively with other RT tablets which tells us nothing since there are no RT tablets yet. The Pro will be priced in line with UltraBooks. Figure @ $1000 to start there + the keyboard/cover.

Back in the very early '80s Sinclair or somebody like that made a product that looked very similar...

You know, except for the xbox, MS has a pretty crummy record with hardware. I hope it's a good tablet, but I won't be an early adopter.

Nothing wrong with Android tablets, by the way, if you don't like Apple's ecosystem.

Actually their mice used to be pretty good. I don't know about now as due to possible carpel tunnel, I switched to the Logitech trackballs. Folks tell me they have good keyboards as well but I'm not a fan of the squishy ones and exclusively use the old IBM Model M keyboards on my personal systems.

And then the xbox 360 red ring of death showed they could go BACK to crappy hardware if they REALLY tried.

I try not to be an early adopter of anything.  I'd rather wait for it to prove itself, wait for the "updated" and "better" (that one is VERY sarcastic) version to come out, and then buy the one year old model that has proven itself reliable (if it has).

Alexi <- proud owner of an ipad 2 that he just bought a week ago and it works great.

These newfangled things will never catch one.

Once I found a decent browser, my Acer tablet is a decent gizmo for a lot less than the iPad.

I look forward to something that can compete with Apple and maybe let a little wind out of there sails.

Sent from my Acer tablet with a hand crank and kerosene.
