My son Zack just graduated from High School. So lets back up a little bit. About January or so Zack said "Dad when I graduate, I am riding to the Pacific Ocean by Mexico and California." So we started doing some mapping with MS Streets & Trips and the trip just expanded.

This is our basic route around the US. We will be riding on some of the best roads in the US

We will be doing an SS1000 the first day.  Think Lansing, Michigan to Sturgis, SD the first day.  Might as well get to the good stuff.

Then riding the Chief Joseph hwy to Beartooth pass.  Riding east over the past the turning around and riding back west to 89 north to the road to the sun into Glacier National Park, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, over to the pacific coast, and down. Swinging inland for Crater Lake and then back to the coast all the way to LA. Across Death Vally to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, the million dollar hwy and head home. The route is about 8,000 miles. Started buying stuff and saving money.

We are down to leaving in 5 days 5 hours and 54 minutes. Did our pack up today.

The only thing left to buy is a tire plug kit, some cliff bars, a small can opener and a couple more bag straps.

Trying to get some extra tire life out of the front of that C14?  Lol  It's never going to touch the ground with that sail on the back.  Why not pack the stuff on top the top box on the back seat?  It will also make for a nice back rest on day 1.

The stuff on the top case will normally be on the back seat, but we had to pack up and do a short ride as if the wife was on the back.  Carla is going to fly in to Portland OR. and ride down the coast and fly back from LA.

We are not smokers or drinkers per say, but some where along the trip we will find the right spot to enjoy a good cigar in the mountains and a good bottle of wine on the beach with a sun set.

Zack is 18.  He just wants to ride and see all the women of the US.  Aaaaw to be 18 again.

Y'all enjoy yourselves and make sure you got wifi to upload the awesome pics.  Make a swing down Spearfish Canyon Road in the Black Hills.  You won't be disappointed.    Get some pics of the waterfall that I forgot to do.

Make sure Beartooth is open.  A few years ago an avalanche closed Beartooth two days before I arrived.  Sad

Just looked at adding Spearfish Canyon in the Black Hills.  I think this is very doable.  We have 24 days to do the trip and we hope to add nice side jaunts like this Sleazy.

I will try and get a pic of the water fall.
