Hi region 3-

I hope all of you are doing ok regrading the fires.

My parents just got burned out from the Waldo Canyon fire in Colo Spgs.  Sad

Seeing my old town burning and my mom and dad lose everything is pretty tough.  I hear it looks like hell has opened and is swallowing everything.

What I learned last night: when you get the evac notice - take it seriously and take everything you might ever want to see again.  Their house was up the hill behind these someplace and they had 2 hours to leave and forgot a bunch of stuff in their panic.

have a plan and execute on it.

Man that sucks. Keeping them in my thoughts, for what it's worth.

dna, im sorry for their loss.  my parents live in cascade and were the first to be evacuated. their property butts up against waldo canyon and as far as they know, the house is still there.  two of my moms coworkers just got news they lost their homes.  unfortunately, this thing will get worse before it gets better.  as a former resident myself, the pictures ive seen are absolutely heartwrenching.  i come back from overseas in a month, so ill get to see the aftermath first hand.  i hope your parents can recover and rebuild quickly without any insurance hassle.

the above opinion is simply that of an average middle aged hick with one too many brain injuries... or, don't take it too serious.

Thanks for the thoughts all - my folks will be fine they will recover and get through - but many are going to loose everything before this is done.

Like I mentioned - have a plan and prep for the worst and it will be easier.

Dayum. Hope it all works out eventually for those who lost homes.  Sad

I was riding in NM and AZ recently and had to re-route because of fires, also rode through some recently burned areas. Met some folks who were 'refugees' from the burning.  The arid West is so different from my neckodawoods.

It's been showering off and on here today. I sure hope the places that need it are getting some of this as well.
